Dear Guardians and Parents,
My name is Lacey McCarty and I will be student teaching in Mrs. Perry’s 5th grade classroom this year. I look forward to working with your child during the reading rotation. I may also student teach in Mrs. Newland’s mathematics rotation and Mrs. Magee’s writing rotation.
Following my student teaching I will graduate in May 2019 from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Elementary Education. I will have concentrations in Science and Language Arts. This is my second trip to college. I have previously worked in the medical field as an EMT and as an archaeologist in the San Juan Basin oil and gas community.
During my education at UNM I have had many valuable experiences that prepared me for my student teaching. I have spent a lot of time attending family math and reading nights at schools throughout the area, working in classrooms with students, tutoring, doing observations, and participating in other learning activities. I have always wanted to teach and I love seeing kids learn! I am looking forward to getting to know and learn from your child.
Sincerely,
Mrs. McCarty
