To acquire and preserve historical documents and artifacts related to the rich history of Laurel County and Southeastern Kentucky.
UPDATE
The Laurel County History Museum and Genealogy Center, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Our physical facility is permanently closed due to being forced to vacate our building in mid-2024, but we maintain an online presence that carries on our mission to acquire and preserve historical documents and artifacts related to the rich history of Laurel County and Southeastern Kentucky.
In order to continue that mission, we have created a VIRTUAL MUSEUM on this website, have expanded the history timeline we previously prepared, and are in the process of adding historic documents, books, and other information to this website which aligns with our mission.
Please click on the image below to view a slideshow which highlights a few of the items and displays which were featured in our physical museum shortly before we were forced to vacate the building.
