Day 1

The first day we didn't know everyone so it was a little bit weird. We started with an energizer with chairs to get some idea about others. Afterwards we learnt our names officially. Host showed us around and we found out our secret Friends and the rules and the basics of the project. We discovered our new hobby: feeding the alpacas! They were so funny. After washing our hands we had a delicious lunch.

We had some free time to take a nap or whatever. Later, we shared our fears, expectations and contributions of this project. We also made some groups in order to make videos in the future. Then Elza introduced us to the GREEN DEAL. And we made a quiz which almost everyone failed. Then we played the "labyrinth" which was mind blowing although at the end we enjoyed It. To end the day we learnt in first hand about latvian culture foods and ... Drinks.

Day 2

Today’s activities started with a Spanish presentation of what Erasmus+ is. We all exchanged experiences and ideas. Then we prepared posters about the key competencies. And as fun as it is, we didn’t stop there. After lunch we continued the activities exploring the Fauna and Flora situation in each country and played Human bingo to get to know each other better. Did you know that Europe’s heaviest land animal lives in Poland? Speaking of Poland, they made our evening better with a presentation about the country. We had a chance to try Polish food, music and vibes.

Day 3

The fun continues one day more! We started the day with a fun energizer where we danced letting our brain and body lose. After that we continued with the programmed activities learning more causes for natural extinction and endangered species. We continued the day with more posters and got to write our very own slogan!

The weather didn’t allow us to continue with the schedule but that didn’t stop the fun. We played “Shark Tank” and we invented our very own product… Isn’t it cool?

Last thing for the day was Macedonian night… They know how to party!!! They brought drinks, food, and good vibes.

Day 4

This morning, we went for a walk through the surroundings of Tuskij with a professional botanist. She explained to us the connection between the number of species in a habitat and nutrients in the soil. She showed us some invasive species that are problematic in Latvia.

After we returned, we listened to a lecture about protected spotted eagles and the issues related to their conservation in Latvia.

Towards the end of the day, we played a game of guessing the concept through a story, which was a lot of fun, and afterward, we attended a Spanish cultural evening 💪.

Day 5

The 5th day of our project was the best one so far! It started with a Croatian workshop about martial arts. We learned that all Croatians have something to do with martial arts, they showed us basic moves of jiu-jitsu. We all loved to play fighting, it was a great way to start the day. After the coffee-break we participated in a quiz prepared by the Polish team. We divided into groups and each group created their families. We did a great job with that, and everything turned out hilarious! For some intellectual stimulation, we had debates. We talked about controversial topics such as death penalty, abortion, eating bunnies as alternative meat, role of zoos in today's society and renewable energy sources. After all of that we needed some rest, which Macedonians took care of by preparing and hosting for us an amazing game of mafia. We finished the day by watching a movie and participating in Estonian intercultural night.

Day 6

This day was all about discovering Latvian nature. We not only had the opportunity to see the swamp in Kemeri National Park but also visited the coast of the Baltic Sea. Did you know that by the end of summer it’s full of medusas? Luckily they were friendly enough for some of us to have a little bath. After this adventurous day we ate a delicious dinner and enjoyed the hot tub as well as the sauna. What an amazing time it was! We can’t wait to see what else is awaiting!

Day 7

Today we were preparing the flashmob. At first we were a bit unorganized, but thankfully Anita stepped up as our spiritual leader. We planned and worked with a dance team, poster team, music team and flower team. Having everyone split up made us work very efficiently, so we were done in a day. Also we prepared interview questions for people in Jelgava. It was an interesting day because we had to organize ourselves. In the end we practiced our dance moves and the activities we had planned for the flashmob to be sure we know what to do tomorrow in the city. In the evening we had amazing Croatian cultural evening where they designed the whole house and made a lot of fun tasks connected with their culture.

Day 8

Today we spent the day exploring the nearby city of Jelgava. We held a public performance, a flash mob, in which many people joined and danced with us. After that, we visited all the landmarks of Jelgava, competing to see who could find all the designated places in the city first. While doing that we also interviewed people in Jelgava about their knowledge of fauna and flora and told them more about Erasmus+ and what we are doing in this project. Unfortunately, we got caught in the rain, but even after that, we enjoyed a nice beer with honey. 🍻

Day 9

This day we started with learning more about permaculture. We divided in groups and got different scenario (The Urban Oasis, The Community Garden, The Rooftop Garden, The Schoolyard Garden, The Rural Retreat) and we presented to others gardening challenges in those scenario and how these challenges can be solved. After that we planned and filmed videos in groups about the project topic which we all watched together in the evening. Later we played some fun board games.

Day 10

Sadly, this was the last day of the project. We played game where we checked how well we got to know each other. After coffee break we planned our dissemination plans in national groups and presented to others our future project ideas. Later we filled in a questionnaire about the project and made the pizza method evaluation and rated our project experience. In a circle we told to each other our feelings what we want to take and keep from this project. It was really emotional as we knew that this is our last day here. We also wrote some letters to each other which we also continued later. In the evening we revealed our secret friends and got our Youthpass certificates. In the evening we had our goodbye party and also we continued writing letters to each other to keep written memories from the project.
