Dr. Le Thi Cuc (黎氏菊) received her B.S. degree in Environmental Technology from Nong Lam University–Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2008, and her M.S. (2013) and Ph.D. (2018) degrees from the Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (now National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, NYCU). She subsequently served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at NYCU for seven years and has been a lecturer in the Department of Environment at Hoa Sen University, Vietnam, since 2014.
Before entering academia, Dr. Cuc gained valuable industry experience as an environmental engineering designer, contributing to the design and operation of wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Vietnam, including a 1,500 CMH system for a fish-processing facility. She also worked as a Material Department Manager at EM-TECH, a Korean engineering firm involved in large-scale industrial projects such as the Formosa Steel Factory in Ha Tinh Province.
Dr. Cuc has been actively engaged in academic, industry–academic, and industrial research projects, collaborating with leading companies including TSMC, China Steel Corporation (CSC), Tai & Chyun, and Junsun. Her research focuses on air pollution control technologies, air quality sampling and monitoring systems, low-cost sensors, atmospheric environmental studies, and machine-learning-based data analysis.
She has published over 30 SCI-indexed journal papers and received several prestigious honors, including the Academic Paper Award and the Professor Wen-Jie Liang Memorial Paper Award from CIENVE, as well as the Engineering Paper Award from CIE in 2022. Dr. Cuc is fluent in Chinese, English, and Vietnamese.
Since 2025, Dr. Cuc has been with the Department of Marine Environmental Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), working in Professor Wang’s Laboratory. Her current responsibilities include undergraduate teaching and student mentoring, leading and participating in funded research projects, and conducting advanced research on high-efficiency particulate and gaseous pollutant control, air quality monitoring technologies, and emerging contaminants to support environmental management and regulatory decision-making.
