Oldest lay women organization worldwide founded by St. Vincent de Paul in 1617
The Association of International Charities of St. Vincent de Paul is a federation of groups of lay women organized and working on a national of local level, recognized by the local Catholic Church and having a Constitution and By Laws. The registered headquarters is determined by its needs and by decision of the Council. Presently, it is located in Brussels, Belgium.

Under provisions of the Statutes approved by the Holy See, the council (delegates body of the AIC) elects an Executive Board composed of a President, four (4) Vice Presidents, and sixteen (16) members. The ecclesiastical advisers are: the Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission, successor of the Founder of the Charities, guarantor of the authenticity of the original spirit; a priest named by the Holy See as Assistant Adviser; and the Superioress of the Daughters of Charity.
