LawForAll was inspired by a plea for help from an ex-pupil of mine. Education has always been something that I am passionate about and we believe that a student's background and financial situation should not limit their aspirations.
After seeing a student I had taught, who I knew was capable of excellence, struggling to the get the resources he needed to succeed, I was inspired to reach out to the legal community. Our mission is to help as many students as we possibly can to succeed and thrive in the legal field.
I am proud to be working alongside LawForAll. Fair representation is fundamental in the legal profession and we try our best to level the playing field so that talented students aren't prevented from excelling.
I decided to get involved with LawForAll because it is truly empowering to help to bridge the barriers faced by students on their paths pursuing legal careers.
Financial circumstances should not determine success, and I hope LawForAll can continue to help even more students in the future!
I help LawForAll with outreach and promotion. My work entails contacting student societies, law firms and legal education organisations to promote LawForAll and source donations, as well as finding eligible students to receive resources.
I got involved because, as a law student myself, I'm all too aware of the cost of studying, and how prohibitive this can be for people from low-income backgrounds. Access to education and diversity in the judicial system is a crucial part of a just society, and LawForAll seeks to ensure that the next generation of lawyers represent the society they work in.
I help LawForAll by increasing engagement with Universities and law societies. Inspired by Clare’s work I was eager to help in any way possible. Having gone through the process of obtaining the necessary textbooks at undergraduate, at an affordable price, I am very aware of the difficulties faced by those studying and seeking a career in law.
The legal sector is in need of being more representative of society as a whole. People should not be prevented from pursuing their goals due to their financial circumstances, and it is a privilege to help bridge this gap.
