Lautaro's ICT PLE

Lit2Go is a free online collection of audiobooks and reading materials provided by the University of South Florida. It offers classic literature, poems, and short stories in both audio and text formats, making it ideal for language learning. Each title includes a downloadable MP3 file and a printable PDF version of the text, allowing teachers to integrate listening and reading activities. The platform supports the development of pronunciation, vocabulary, and reading comprehension while exposing students to authentic literary language in an accessible, multimodal way.

How to use it

Step 1 – Go to the Website

Visit https://etc.usf.edu/lit2go/
You can access all materials for free — no registration required.

Step 2 – Browse or Search for a Text

Use the search bar at the top to find a specific story, author, or keyword (e.g., “Poe” or “fairy tale”).
You can also browse by Author, Book, Genre, Collection, or Readability level from the top menu.

Step 3 – Select a Title

Click on a book or poem that interests you.
Each title includes a short summary, the reading level, and a link to the text and audio.
For longer works, each chapter or section can be accessed separately.

Step 4 – Listen and Read

On the text page, click Play to listen to the audiobook version while reading along.
The text appears on-screen, and you can also download the MP3 file to listen offline.
To read without audio, simply scroll through the text or download the PDF version.

Step 5 – Download and Save

Click the Download MP3 button to save the audio file.
Click Download PDF to save or print the text for offline or classroom use.

Instructions

Students will choose a short story or poem from Lit2Go, listen to the audio, and read along with the text. Afterward, they will write a brief summary and discuss the main theme or moral of the story in small groups. For homework, they can record a short oral summary or create comprehension questions for peers.
