For many students, school serves as their only source of a safe and nurturing space for them to feel seen, safe, and vulnerable. Educators need effective supports to further anchor their capacities to cultivate affirming and supportive learning environments so that all students can learn, grow, and thrive. The LAUSD/Harmony Implementation project combines the use of the Harmony Curriculum, a CASEL-select social emotional learning (SEL) program, and SEL measurement data to address this need.

This project aims to investigate the ways in which educators within Los Angeles Independent School District (LAUSD) implement the Harmony Curriculum to foster student achievement. We will explore various aspects of the curriculum’s application, including its impact on student outcomes, integration strategies within classroom settings, and overall effectiveness in promoting social, emotional, and academic growth among students. We want to leverage the incredible work educators are doing to support their students' overall well-being.
Who should participate?
Who should participate?
We are seeking K-2nd grade teachers who are currently using or are interested in implementing the Harmony Curriculum. We invite those teachers willing to share their experiences with the program by completing two surveys (Fall/Spring) and participating in a focus group (optional). Schools who participate will receive a one-year subscription to Insights for all teachers to measure students' social and emotional skills. This is our way of saying thank you for your commitment to enhancing education and fostering a brighter future for LAUSD students.
