Across the globe, more and more children are being separated from their parents due to many different reasons. Broken families lead to a broken generation - without the parental love and nurture that was intended to help them grow and develop into emotionally and mentally healthy individuals, our children are becoming more traumatised, isolated, and lost. Having no lived experience of love within the family, how will they be able to understand and receive the love of God the Father? How can the church respond to redeem the next generation?
What are some of the most pressing problems causing families to be disconnected? Here are some specific responses for which we are inviting artistic impact solutions for the global ecclesia to consider in this season:
War, Conflict and Disaster - Families are being torn apart through death or displacement. There is no space accorded to the children to process their grief, loss and trauma. How can the arts help to create a safe space for them to encounter the Healer of their souls?
Breakdown in Traditional Family Structure - Children are being separated from their parents by divorce, poverty, or even affluence. While being neglected, sold or abandoned, they do not have a voice to express the pain which is inflicted on them. How can the arts give them a voice to speak of their suffering and discover the One who suffers with them?
The Internet and Isolation - Craving the attention and acceptance which parents are not giving to them, children turn to the Internet to fill this need. A vicious circle results where they become even more isolated and estranged from their families. How can the arts draw them away from Internet addictions to find the Virtuous One who accepts them unconditionally?
