Hi, I'm Lauren - a birth and postpartum doula serving families in NW Ohio, NE Indiana, and Southern Michigan. I'm wife to Nick and also a mom of three, so I understand how powerful, challenging, and beautiful the journey of welcoming a new baby can be. I've had a baby in the hospital, birth center, and at home so I am familiar with all environments! I first became interested in birth work years ago after not having a doula when my oldest was born. Although I used an incredible midwife, I naively assumed I didn't need a doula because I had a great provider. Through that experience, I desperately saw the need for continuous labor support. I completed doula training with Birth Arts International and attended several births, and though I stepped away for a season while raising my own children, I've always felt called back to this work. As your doula, my role is to walk alongside you with calm, encouraging, and practical support -whether that's holding space for your birth preferences, offering comfort techniques in labor, or helping you feel more settled in those early weeks with your newborn. After birth, I'm here to listen, support with breastfeeding, lend a hand with meals and chores, and make sure moms have the time they need to care for themselves. My goal is that during both birth or postpartum, you feel informed, cared for, and never alone in the process. Every family's story is unique, and I'd be honored to be part of yours.Â
