Frogs are considered an environmental indicator. That means when there is a shift in the food chain or energy web, frog populations are some of the first to be affected. Their permeable skin can absorb chemicals and toxins easily, which is why the presence of a large frog community normally means a clean and healthy water supply. Since frogs are both predators and prey, the world would see a negative impact on neighboring species if frogs were to disappear.

Juxtaposing these two species who (at least not recorded yet) do not interact with each other. The little brown bat is listed as an endangered species across the U.S. and lantern flies have been a busy invasive species. This is my wishful thinking that maybe the bats will realize they can eat these little flying insects.
