Laurel Elementary thrives because of the time, talents, and dedication of our many volunteers. Whether you can give a few hours or make a larger commitment, your involvement helps make Laurel a stronger, more connected community. Be on the lookout for Sign Ups from PTO throughout the year or fill out an interest form.
Getting involved in PTO does not only mean committing to meetings or volunteering every week. There are many ways to participate, including:
• Sharing ideas or feedback
• Supporting our annual fundraiser
• Helping with small service projects
• Donating items for school initiatives
• Simply staying informed about what is happening in our school community
Grandparents, caregivers, and extended family members are also welcome and encouraged to participate. You MUST be a registered volunteer through Poudre School District. To register, click HERE.
Our Back-to-School Meet the Teacher & PTO Social is a fun and welcoming event that helps kick off the school year. Students have the opportunity to meet their teacher, drop off school supplies, explore their classroom, and reconnect with friends, while families enjoy complimentary treats provided by the PTO. As a community-building event, the PTO is available to welcome new families, answer questions, and help everyone feel connected and excited for the year ahead.
Laps for Laurel is our school's main fundraiser. Every fall, our students run or walk laps to raise money while promoting school spirit and healthy habits. With music, bubbles and our Lenny the Lynx mascot, it's a blast for everyone. Support our school and help us make a difference!
In the fall, your student will send out a unique link for you to support them during the fundraiser.

Laurel's Learning Garden provides students with hands-on opportunities to explore science, nature, nutrition, and environmental stewardship right on campus. Volunteers help maintain the garden, support student activities, and ensure this valuable outdoor learning space continues to thrive.
The Lynx Exchange is Laurel's care closet, providing essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and other necessities to support students and families in our school community. The PTO helps maintain and stock the Lynx Exchange by organizing donation drives throughout the year and coordinating volunteer support. Through the generosity of our community, the Lynx Exchange helps ensure that every Laurel Lynx has access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
During conference week, Laurel staff dedicate long hours to meeting with families and supporting students beyond the regular school day. To show our gratitude, the PTO coordinates three evenings of home-cooked meals for staff, providing a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy a delicious dinner without having to leave the building. This simple gesture of appreciation reminds our educators how valued they are by the Laurel community.
The Staff Cookie Exchange is a sweet holiday tradition that gives Laurel families an opportunity to show appreciation for our amazing staff. Families can donate homemade or store-bought cookies, or contribute funds to help purchase treats, allowing each staff member to create their own assortment of holiday goodies to take home and enjoy. This simple gesture of gratitude brings joy, builds community, and helps make the holiday season a little brighter for those who do so much for our students every day.
Throughout the year, there are many school-sponsored events and programs beyond the PTO that rely on community support. If you're interested in volunteering for events such as the Fall Fesitval, Field Day or Bike to School Days, or you can commit to regular volunteer hours in the Media Center or Classrooms, contact us and we'll help connect you with the right person.
