Laura Muñoz-Blanco
Warm welcome! I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Exeter Business School and affiliated with the Trinity Impact Evaluation-TIME research centre. I received my PhD in Economics from Trinity College Dublin in 2023.
I am an applied economist interested in development economics and applied microeconometrics. I am passionate about understanding the interaction between forced displacement and two primary outcomes:
gender disparities (e.g., early marriage, GBV, bargaining power, ...)
social cohesion (e.g., integration, trust, discrimination, ... )
My research questions have led me from humanitarian to economic history settings, with a focus on causal identification. One motivation for my research is to evaluate policies designed to mitigate the impacts of forced displacement.
Before getting my PhD, I worked for seven years at the United Nations and the OECD.
