At CIDE, I taught courses in the Bachelor of Public Policy and the Master in Methods for Public Policy Analysis.
This course will provide students with the methodologies and tools necessary to conduct evaluations of public programs and policies. Students will learn the concepts, applications, and methodologies required to perform evaluations or to assess whether an evaluation has been rigorously implemented, thus informing decisions about the future implementation of public programs and projects.
This course recognizes the importance of public policies in public debates concerning peacebuilding. Students will study public policy theories to analyze sectoral and territorial policies related to peacebuilding and violence reduction in Colombia and other countries that have faced similar situations.
This course (second part) covers the different types of evaluations that can be conducted to assess public policies, emphasizing impact evaluation methodologies. Students learn the econometrics necessary to perform impact evaluations using experimental, quasi-experimental, and non-experimental methods.
