For more than 20 years, I taught marketing at UCLA, USC, MIT, and UC San Diego, helping young people explore ideas, gain confidence, and prepare for what came next.
That background shapes the way I approach college admissions. Marketing and entrepreneurship taught me to ask good questions, understand audiences, identify what is genuinely distinctive, and turn a great deal of information into a coherent strategy.
I bring that same combination of analysis, curiosity, and perspective to each student.
The admissions process has many pieces: academic interests, activities, experiences, accomplishments, values, goals, essays, and choices about where and how to apply. Students don't always recognize how those pieces relate—or which ones matter most.
This is the part of the process I especially enjoy: stepping back, seeing the connections, and figuring out how the pieces can work together.
Sometimes that means finding the throughline in an essay. Sometimes it means recognizing an academic direction a student hasn't considered, rethinking a college list, or deciding what deserves emphasis in an application.
The goal isn't to force everything into a single narrative. It's to create clarity and coherence while preserving the complexity of the student behind the application.

College admissions can quickly become overwhelming. Course selection, testing, college research, activities, essays, deadlines, and competing advice can leave students uncertain and parents feeling responsible for keeping everything on track.
I provide the structure, perspective, and accountability students need to move forward with confidence while allowing parents to step back from the role of project manager.
I intentionally limit the number of students I advise each year so that every family receives individualized guidance, timely feedback, and consistent support from beginning to end.
My students have earned admission to MIT, Caltech, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, UC San Diego, the University of Michigan, NYU, Northeastern, Boston College, UNC Chapel Hill, Purdue, RISD, and Pratt Institute, as well as graduate and professional programs including UCLA School of Law, Georgetown University Law Center, USC Gould School of Law, and the Technical University of Munich.
More importantly, they have found places where they can grow intellectually, contribute meaningfully, and build fulfilling futures.
Some families begin as early as 10th grade, when there is time to consider coursework, activities, summer opportunities, and emerging academic interests. Others begin in 11th or 12th grade as college research and applications take center stage.
There is no single right starting point. My guidance is tailored to each student's priorities, timeline, and individual needs.
