Pip

Pip was not built in a lab; he was a survivor of the Sump's harsh ecosystem. Moth discovered it struggling in a stagnant puddle inside the High-Nest, Yumi’s former hidden sanctuary. Despite the toxic environment, the beetle had survived, and Moth insisted on rescuing it. Yumi initially viewed the insect as a "biological contaminant," but after seeing the joy it brought to Moth, she allowed it to stay.

Connection to the Spark

Because Pip spent so much time near Moth, he has been subtly changed by her "Endless Source" energy. He is far more intelligent than a standard insect and his shell often glows with different colors based on Moth's mood or the presence of danger.

• Behavior: Pip is fiercely loyal. He often perches on Moth’s shoulder or hitches a ride on Yumi’s ironwood mask.

• Communication: He communicates through a series of rhythmic wing-clicks and vibrations that Moth seems to understand perfectly.
