It came to my attention that you have the con-artists that will appear on your Facebook , sponsored by whoever, stating they will give you some beats for free. Then if you like the beats you can order more for a stipulated fee. This little bugger Ricci Beatz is doing this under the pretence of having LEUKEMIA everyone. What is the definition of free. Free means someone that had something says there all yours have and it is now yours. This little bugger is saying that he will GIVE you 5 FREE beats. So I thought about it, as a businessman, how can I help, so I explained to the little fart that I will re-master and remix the 5 beats and publish the tracks showing his name off as a collaborator. I mean the jack ass gave them to me for FREE.... Anyway before I can even listen to all the beats, he e-mailed me stating that I can just put it on my streaming platforms but I cant publish them. Did this fool go to school? Every time you are putting anything on a streaming platform your are publishing. Even on Facebook when you have a nice picture and you want to show everyone , you are publishing. It says that BIG and BOLD. So he contradicted himself straight away. Also on platforms such as SoundCloud, you can repost and publish music on your profile as long as the original composer gives you permission or you simply pay the monthly/yearly fee that Soundcloud is asking you. These guys will say to you they are free, the second that you use it to sing , share, do anything, they are going to try come straight to your door, and say it is theirs and to hand over sales. So he is making everyone use his beats saying he has leukemia and the second you want to market his name so he can get a record deal as a music engineer, to stop him from "DYING" he is going to be on your ass for the sales..... EVERYONE please be wary of these SCAMS .....Ricci Beatz is another major scam circulating on the web. Be careful .

Dr Dre served with divorce papers

Dr Dre was handed divorce papers during his grandmother’s burial, it has been reported. The rapper’s estranged wife, Nicole Young, served him with the documents that relate to her legal fees while he was burying the woman who raised him.

Representatives of both Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, and his wife confirmed the story to TMZ, although there have been conflicting accounts of what happened. Dre’s team has claimed that he was approached at the grave while standing next to his grandmother’s casket. But according to Young, the process server met her ex in the car park after the burial.

Dre and Young married in 1996. Young filed for divorce in June 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences”. The divorce papers issued on the day of the funeral relate relate to outstanding legal fees of $1.55million (£1.12million) that Dre owe to Young following a judge’s ruling last month. The rapper has already paid more than $325,433 (£235,551). In other news, a new album by Dre looks set to kick off ‘The Aftermath Takeover’ alongside one by Snoop Dog before the end of 2021. As stated in a recent Instagram post by DJ Battlecat, the Beats By Dre mogul will release his highly anticipated solo album and follow-up to 2015’s ‘Compton‘ before the end of the year (via Hip Hop DX). On October 12, Battlecat shared a meme to his account that showed a potential timeline for the takeover, which will begin with Snoop Dogg’s album release on November 12 followed by Dre’s album sometime in December. The post also teased Kendrick Lamar’s follow up to 2017’s ‘DAMN.’, Xzibit’s ‘King Maker’ project as well as the fact that a Mt. Westmore album from Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, Ice Cube and E-40 could be arriving “soon”.

Dave announces dates of his U.S. and Canada Tour .

Dave has announced a North American headline tour for 2022 – you can find all the details below.

The London rapper will head stateside in support of his second album ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’, which was released back in July. Tickets go on general sale here this Friday (October 22) at 10am local time. The dates are set to begin in San Franciso on April 26, with shows then following in Vancouver (April 27), Chicago (April 29), Washington D.C. (May 1), New York (May 5), Boston (May 6), Atlanta (May 8), Montreal (May 10) and Toronto (May 13). It comes after Dave announced a UK and Ireland headline tour for next year. He’ll kick off the run of gigs at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on February 15, 2022. Other stop-offs include Birmingham, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool and Glasgow. The rapper headlined Parklife 2021 in Manchester last month, where he was joined on stage by surprise guest Stormzy. Together, the pair treated the Heaton Park crowd to a live airing of their collaborative track ‘Clash’. In a glowing five-star review of Dave’s latest album, NME wrote: “As illustrated throughout the stunning ‘Psychodrama’, Dave has always been the one to rap traditionally, using hip-hop for what it was intended to do: give a voice to the voiceless. “He has always been able to show the inner-workings of many young Londoners in a clean and universal way that can perhaps help the whole world to better understand the Black British experience, especially that of Black men.”

Kanye West is changing his name to 'ye".

Kanye West‘s petition to legally change his name to his nickname, Ye, has been approved in a Los Angeles court. Back in August, the rapper and producer filed documents to change his full name – Kanye Omari West – to the mononym. According to TMZ, West has now been granted his name change, which means he will be referred to simply as Ye moving forward, and he will no longer have a middle name. The ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper spoke of the planned change during a radio interview in 2018, explaining: “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us.” West went on to say that his name “went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything.” Back in 2019, West considered changing his name to ‘Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West’, but didn’t follow through with the idea. West’s name change follows the arrival of his long-teased album, ‘DONDA’. In a three-star review, NME‘s Rhian Daly said of the album: “The rapper’s 10th album follows an odyssey of delays and bizarre not-quite-release parties, the result merely punctuated with moments of brilliance.”

Earlier this month, the rapper’s manager Bu Thiam confirmed the album would be released following the third listening event in Chicago on Thursday (August 26). The event will also be live-streamed on Apple Music.

Earlier this month, West earned his first ever Diamond certification, with ‘Stronger’ surpassing the 10 million sales mark. Released in 2007 from West’s third album ‘Graduation’, the track has reached the milestone 14 years later. Meanwhile, it’s been announced that an “intimate” new documentary about West, titled jeen-yuhs, is coming to Netflix next year. jeen-yus was directed by Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah and will capture two decades of the rapper’s life and career. It promises to showcase “both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist”.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Spotify page was reportedly hacked and edited with NSFW content, with the rapper’s bio, photos and more altered. The hackers referenced Trippie Redd and Lil Durk in 6ix9ine’s temporary bio change – two artists that the disgraced star has had beef with. “I grew up always wanting to be like Trippie Redd and lil durk I’d let them hit my girl and my mom,” the biography read. “My mom pussy stank I came from the sewer. Wack 100 my boyfriend and he secretly crip.” 6ix9ine’s profile picture was changed to a photo of Redd and his artist pick showed up as the rapper’s ‘Trip At Knight’ album. Another photo on the page showed 6ix9ine’s face edited onto an Animorphs graphic that portrayed a rat evolving into a human. Elsewhere, his profile was also edited to feature pictures of penises. His Spotify page has since been reverted back to its original form and the hacker’s identity has not been revealed. Last month, 6ix9ine was involved in an altercation at an Ultimate Fighting Championship event in Las Vegas. According to reports, a member of the crowd at UFC 266 allegedly heckled the rapper and threw a drink at him. In response, the star threw a drink back. He was not charged in the incident, however the other man was taken away in handcuffs. Earlier this year, YouTuber Jake Paul challenged 6ix9ine to a boxing match, saying the rapper “deserves to get his ass beat and I want to do it for all the people he’s disrespected”. 6ix9ine responded by saying: “I think he’s on steroids like his security guard who passed away.”

Adele breaks Spotify streaming record for ‘Easy On Me’

Adele has broken a new Spotify streaming record with new song, ‘Easy On Me’. The single, Adele’s first in five years, arrived at midnight on October 15 and quickly amassed millions of streams within its first few hours of going live. The song has now set a new record for the most streams in a single day, surpassing a record previously held by K-pop giants, BTS. They held the record with 20.9 million streams for ‘Butter’. Yesterday (October 16), Adele also hinted about what fans can expect to hear on her next album, ’30’, which will arrive on November 19. When asked about possible options for the first single, Adele told Zoe Ball there were “three”, before going on to describe how each sounded. Adele explained: “There were three options for the first single. Very different, all of them. There’s obviously ‘Easy On Me’, then there’s another one…I got very into Goldfrapp and I was like, ‘I can do this music too!’. I can do one song, I definitely couldn’t pull off what Alison [Goldfrapp does], she’s the absolute Queen. “And there’s another one that’s very 70s, piano singer-songwriter. Man Charged With Murdering Pop Smoke Says He Told Shooter to Use ‘Flower Vase’ Not Gun

The sole adult suspect charged with murdering Pop Smoke in a home-invasion robbery was so upset one of his co-defendants opened fire on the rising rapper that he “assaulted” the 15-year-old alleged gunman afterward, his lawyer claims in a new court filing obtained by Rolling Stone. Corey Walker, 20, was back in a Los Angeles courtroom Friday as his defense lawyer, Christopher Darden, filed a motion to dismiss his murder and robbery charges with the argument that Walker specifically voiced his opposition to any violence before Pop Smoke was fatally shot inside his rented Hollywood Hills home on February 19, 2020. “It is clear from the evidence that [Walker] did not enter the house, was not armed, and did not personally kill the victim. Moreover, the evidence is clear that the defendant did not share the actual killer’s intent to kill,” Darden wrote in the filing. He said his client “did not plan this crime” and in the “worst case scenario” was only the driver who “remained outside seated in the driver’s seat” of a vehicle that belonged to him and his grandmother. “The defendant was aware that a weapon was being used,” Darden wrote, but “he was careful to insist that his weapon” not be fired. Walker allegedly insisted that “if it became necessary for the suspects to defend themselves, they should use a flower vase rather than shoot someone,” Darden wrote. “It was only after the robbers exited the house and reentered the vehicle that [Walker] learned of the shooting. In response, [Walker] assaulted the shooter,” he argued. The judge set a hearing on the new motion for December 3rd. Walker’s estimated four-week trial is expected to begin within 90 days of that date, barring a possible plea deal or other delays. Prosecutors say Walker and four others arrived at Pop Smoke’s Airbnb rental shortly after 4 a.m. the day of the slaying in search of a stack of cash, a thick gold chain, and diamond-studded watch the Dior rapper had flashed on social media. Four of the five allegedly entered the home, and three of those have been charged as minors in the case. Born Bashar Jackson, Pop Smoke was taking a shower when his masked assailants “rushed” into his upstairs bedroom and confronted him, prosecutors claim. He was gunned down by a suspect who was just 15 years old at the time following a struggle, according to testimony from LAPD witnesses at a preliminary hearing in May. One detective testified a Google account linked to Walker researched the rental home before the slaying and then searched “Rolex oyster perpetual date just” at 5:15 a.m., less than an hour after the first 911 call was made. Darden further argued in his new motion that the firearm used to shoot Pop Smoke did not belong to Walker. “[Walker] was only aware of one weapon. There is nothing in the record to indicate this defendant knew that more than one weapon was going to be taken inside the house. And there is nothing to indicate that the weapon used in the killing was the heat this defendant provided to a suspect,” Darden wrote. After the hearing Friday, Darden said settlement talks with prosecutors were ongoing.

“We’re just beginning. We’re nowhere near close,” he told Rolling Stone. “God willing, we will perhaps have a resolution soon. We all realize my client didn’t kill anybody.”

Coldplay announce the dates of thier worldwide 'plant a tree' tour.

Coldplay have announced details of their 2022 world stadium tour, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability – see the dates, ticket details and information on the band’s eco-friendly measures below. Back in 2019 the band announced that they were taking time to consider how they would tour in the future in order to make it as environmentally friendly as possible Later this month (October 22), they will become the first act to play the newly renamed Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, the first zero-carbon arena in the world. Coldplay’s new tour dates – which come on the back of the band’s new album ‘Music Of The Spheres’, out tomorrow (October 15) – will see the band supported by H.E.R. and London Grammar, and begin in March in Costa Rica. North American dates will then take place across May and June, before the band head to Europe in July. A UK run of shows closes the tour, including three dates at London’s Wembley Stadium. Fans can register for tickets for the US leg of the tour here, while priority tickets for the London and Glasgow shows go to fans who have pre-ordered ‘Music Of The Spheres’ on the band’s official webstore. Discussing the idea behind the tour, the band said in a statement: “Playing live and finding connection with people is ultimately why we exist as a band. We’ve been planning this tour for years, and we’re super excited to play songs from across our whole time together. At the same time, we’re very conscious that the planet is facing a climate crisis. So we’ve spent the last two years consulting with environmental experts to make this tour as sustainable as possible, and, just as importantly, to harness the tour’s potential to push things forward. “We won’t get everything right, but we’re committed to doing everything we can and sharing what we learn. It’s a work in progress and we’re really grateful for the help we’ve had so far. If you’d like to come to a show and sing with us, we’re so excited to see you.” Integral to the tour are its eco-friendly measures, which have been set out on a new ‘sustainability’ section of Coldplay’s official website. The measures include cutting direct emissions by 50 per cent compared to the band’s last tour in 2016 and 2017, using 100 per cent renewable energy and having solar installations at every venue. Fans who travel to the shows by public transport will be rewarded with discounts, while the band are donating 10 percent of all of the tour’s earnings to climate change organisations. One tree will also be planted for every ticket sold. Earlier this week (October 12), Coldplay played a tiny London show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire which featured a special guest appearance from Ed Sheeran. On Monday 11th October Supermodel Candice Rachel Garcia joined the Packa Beatz Entertainment camp. She caught the eyes of Entertainment Mogul Jacob Winston Foster. He quoted, "When I saw her portfolio that was it. I had to sign Candice. Her eyes man, just look at her eyes." Today after an hour on conversation they sealed the deal. Jacob was also quoted as saying as "She is for life, yes this girl right here, this superstar, is for forever". According to sources close to the Mogul they would be starting official business according to the roster and the product distribution. They will be preparing her website soon and she would start modelling and recording some tracks.

Sexiest rapper alive Rico Nasty teases fans about a possible track with Flo milli .

Rico Nasty has teased a collaborative track with fellow rapper Flo Milli. On Rico’s TikTok account, the rapper posted a clip where she pretends to play Red Light Green Light, the childhood game from Netflix show Squid Game. The caption reads “POV: they play your song with Flo Milli in Squid Games”, with Rico pretending to play the deadly game. Its haunting song switches up to a snippet of the as-yet-untitled track, where a celebratory Miami bass beat takes over. “Hey, we want some money / Let me hear you say,” its hook is heard before Rico playfully fakes getting shot. Rico shared the clip on her Twitter account, adding that she “wouldn’t survive” the game. Last month, Rico unveiled five surprise new songs on her SoundCloud page: ‘Switch Places’, ‘Grow Up’, ‘Cotton Candy’, ‘Show Me Your Love’, and ‘How Ya Feel’.

The drop followed Rico’s performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk online concert series, where she performed a set backed with an all-female band. Rico dropped her debut album ‘Nightmare Vacation’ last year. R.Kelly found guilty on all sexual assault charges.

R. Kelly has claimed that he will “fight for my freedom” after being found guilty in his federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial in New York yesterday (September 27). The disgraced singer’s six-week trial – which featured 11 accusers taking to the stand to detail the numerous allegations of sexual abuse and violence against Kelly – concluded with him being found guilty by a jury of seven men and five women on all nine charges he was facing. Kelly is now due to be sentenced on May 4, 2022, and could face life behind bars for his crimes. He will face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. “Today’s guilty verdict forever brands R. Kelly as a predator, who used his fame and fortune to prey on the young, the vulnerable, and the voiceless for his own sexual gratification,” Acting U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn M. Kasulis said in a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice. “A predator who used his inner circle to ensnare underage teenage girls, and young women and men, for decades, in a sordid web of sex abuse, exploitation and degradation.” Kelly, who pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and has consistently denied all of the claims made against him, posted a message on his Facebook page yesterday after he was found guilty. “To all my fans and supporters I love you all and thank you for all the support,” the message read. “Today’s verdict was disappointing and I will continue to prove my innocence and fight for my freedom.” Kelly is still facing charges of child pornography and obstruction in Illinois. He is also concurrently facing other sex-related charges in Illinois and Minnesota. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.

After several delays and setbacks, Drake has finally released his highly anticipated sixth studio album ‘Certified Lover Boy’. The Canadian superstar has spent this week teasing fans with details about ‘Certified Lover Boy’, including hints for the artists that feature on the album, on billboards around North America.21 tracks long, ‘Certified Lover Boy’, out today (September 3), includes featured verses from Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Travis Scott, Future, Yebba, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 21 Savage and more.In addition, the album’s second track, ‘Papi’s Home’, includes background vocals from Nicki Minaj. ‘Way 2 Sexy’, alongside Future and Young Thug, includes a sample of Right Said Fred‘s 1991 mega-hit ‘I’m Too Sexy’. ‘TSU’ samples NSYNC‘s 1997 track ‘Sailing’, according to Genius. It also gives partial songwriting credit to R. Kelly, who is currently on trial for racketeering, sex trafficking and child pornography. Details of Kelly’s involvement in ‘TSU’ are unclear at present.In a bio for the album on Apple Music, Drake wrote that the album is about “a combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking.” He also dedicated the album to the late Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr. Kid Cudi’s feature appears to signal an end to the feud he and Drake were embroiled in a few years ago. A fan on Twitter said that they were “happy” to see an end to their beef, to which Cudi retweeted and said “me too”.

Drake confirmed the album’s release last week, announcing it on ESPN show SportsCenter by ‘hacking’ into the program. ‘Certified Lover Boy’ was supposed to be released in January this year, but was postponed due to Drake’s recovery from knee surgery. Rapper Dizzee Rascal charged with assaulting woman.

Dizzee Rascal has been charged with assaulting a woman in a “domestic argument” at her south London home, police have confirmed. The rapper, real name is Dylan Mills, was arrested on June 8 on suspicion of common assault and was later released on bail. He was charged today (August 2) and is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on September 3. Metropolitan Police said [via The Sun]: “Dylan Mills, 36, of Sevenoaks, Kent, has been charged with assault after an incident at a residential address in Streatham on 8 June. “Officers attended and a woman reported minor injuries. She did not require hospital treatment. Mills is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 3 September.” In other news, last month the rapper said that he thinks Glastonbury festival organisers were “scared” to make him a headliner. He has played the festival several times before but has never performed at the top spot. “I should have headlined Glastonbury,” he told Chuckie Online on the JD In The Duffle Bag Podcast. “I’ve done Glastonbury since I think 2008, might have been the first time I did it. “I was one from the headline, and then someone dropped out, so they should have moved me up, but then they put on Gorillaz or someone,” he said, referring to the 2010 edition of the festival where he was on the bill after Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson and Vampire Weekend – and was one spot below headliners U2. U2 were forced to pull out of the festival that year when frontman Bono suffered a back injury. Dizzee said he felt like he should have been made a headliner. Fetty Wap mourns death of daughter.

Rapper Fetty Wap is mourning the loss of his four year old daughter, Lauren Maxwell. Lauren passed away in June after a brief and undisclosed illness, according to People magazine. Her mother, Turquoise Miami, also confirmed the sad news in an Instagram post on Sunday night. "This is my amazing ,beautiful , funny , vibrant, loving ,talented , smart (sic) and hardheaded princess mermaid Aquarius," she wrote in the caption of the post, which showed a video of her daughter smiling in a pool. "If you see this post scrolling by with her comment or just say to yourself ' i love you LAUREN 'because they say that souls can feel your love #rip," she concluded. The rapper hasn't commented directly about his daughter's passing, but reportedly mentioned her in a post to his Instagram story following a performance at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami last month. According to PageSix, the My Way artist said in the now-expired post "LoLo daddy did that s**t for you last night baby girl." Lauren was one of the 30-year-old's six young children. The loss comes a few months after Wap tragically lost his brother, who he referred to in interviews as his "twin." In a 2016 interview with comedian Trevor Noah, Wap spoke about how fame has changed his perspective on the importance of looking out for his family. "I'm not really a family person. I just do my own thing. But I've just been spending time with my mom... I drive all the way down there to Georgia just to check up on her. Chinese-Canadian pop star Kris Wu has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Officers in Beijing said the investigation centered on online allegations that the star, 30, had "deceived young women multiple times into having sexual relations". The first accusation came early this month when a woman said he had assaulted her while she was drunk. Mr. Wu, one of China's biggest celebrities, has denied all the allegations of assault. The first to accuse him was 19-year-old student Du Meizhu, who posted on social media that she had met Mr. Wu when she was 17. She said she had been invited to a party at his home, where she was pressured to drink alcohol and woke up in his bed the next day. Ms. Du said seven other women had told her Mr. Wu had seduced them with promises of jobs and other opportunities. She said some were minors. At least 24 more women have since come forward alleging inappropriate behavior. Mr. Wu has denied plying Ms. Du with alcohol, and also rejected other allegations that he had enticed girls to have sex in return for benefits, raped girls while they were unconscious, and had sex with minors. Under Chinese law, under-18s are considered minors, while the age of sexual consent is 14. "There was no 'groupie sex'! There was no 'underage'!' he wrote on his social media account after the allegations were made. "If there were this kind of thing, please everyone relax, I would put myself in jail!" His lawyers are suing Ms. Du for defamation. The incident comes as awareness of gender-based violence in China has grown, sparked by the #MeToo movement in 2018, where women voiced their experiences of sexual harassment, sometimes involving high-profile figures. Mr. Wu first shot to fame as a member of the K-pop boyband EXO. He left in 2014 to launch a successful solo career as a singer, actor, model and talent show judge.

Dave scores his No 1 with the largest week sales since 2019.

Dave has scored his second consecutive UK Number One album with ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’ and has claimed the biggest opening week on the chart since 2019. The rapper’s new album, which arrived last week (July 23), debuted at the top spot with over 74,000 chart sales – 56 per cent of which were physical copies – making it the highest opening week of the year. The record’s sales far surpassed previous holder Olivia Rodrigo, whose debut album ‘Sour’ picked up 51,000 chart sales in June. Besides being the chart’s biggest opening week since November 2019, when Coldplay’s ‘Everyday Life’ opened with 81,000 chart sales, Dave’s latest offering has also claimed the biggest opening week for a UK rap album since Tinie Tempah’s debut ‘Disc-Overy’ in October 2010. ‘We’re All Alone In This Together’ – which follows 2019’s Mercury Prize-winning ‘Psychodrama’ – was one of two new releases to land inside the Top Five, alongside Anne-Marie‘s ‘Therapy’ which took the Number Two spot. “Second Number One album. Johnny Ventura Dead at 81

Legendary Dominican singer Johnny Ventura died Wednesday at the age of 81, according to officials in the Dominican Republic. "The Ministry of Culture deeply regrets the death of the great Dominican musician Johnny Ventura," the government entity tweeted in Spanish. "We join the pain that overwhelms his family in these difficult times. His legacy will live on forever in his songs and Dominican culture." His son, Jandy Ventura, told Dominican press that his father died in a hospital after having a heart attack. The late singer began his music career in the early 1960s after joining several Latin music orchestras. But he rose to prominence once he created his own salsa and merengue orchestra, known as the "Combo Show," becoming one of the most popular Dominican artists of all time. Ventura, who was deemed as the "Elvis of merengue" by some in the music industry, recorded dozens of albums throughout his 60-year career. He won six Latin Music Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006 to honor his "contributions of outstanding artistic significance to Latin music," according to the Latin Recording Academy. "Today is a very sad day for merengue and for the Dominican Republic. Johnny Ventura, El Caballo Mayor, has physically left us, but his legacy and joy will always be with us. My solidarity hug to his loved ones," Dominican First Lady Raquel Arbaje tweeted in Spanish. After reaching superstar status in the music industry, Ventura went into politics. He served as the vice mayor of Santo Domingo from 1994 to 1998, and as mayor of Santo Domingo from 1998 to 2002. Rep. Adriano Espaillat, D-N.Y., who is also the first Dominican-American elected to Congress, remembered Ventura as "a good friend." "He was a man of his word, a man of endless talent, a national treasure, and an icon of the Dominican community," Espaillat tweeted. "My heart breaks now that he's gone, but his spirit must — and will — live on. Rest in power, brother." Ventura is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nelly Josefina Flores, seven children, 17 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Stormzy is heading to Madame Tussuads.

Stormzy is the latest famous face to become immortalised with a waxwork at Madame Tussauds. The grime MC has been working with the London tourist attraction on his likeness for more than a year, and it is now set to be unveiled later this summer. In a video shared online, the south London star appears astonished as he locks eyes on the near-complete waxwork for the first time. “That’s scary, cuz. Oh my days,” he remarks. One sweet moment in the clip also shows his young nephew meeting the figure, saying: “Uncle Junior is not moving.” Stormzy then appears from behind a wall, causing further confusion for the youngster, who says: “You scared me! You’ve got two Uncle Juniors!” He will continue to work with Madame Tussauds on finishing the waxwork before it goes on display later this summer. “I’m proud, and I hope, when my fans see my figure, they feel proud too,” said Stormzy. “I was told Madame Tussauds London wanted to make a figure of me just after I performed at Glastonbury, and it really felt like the icing on top of the cake. “Growing up, going to school, we’d go to Madame Tussauds London all the time. Potter Payper signs for Def Jam.

When Potter Payper returned to us last year, he did so at the apex of the pandemic, but he didn’t let that slow him down one bit. Instead he released the 2020 Vision EP and then followed it up with the monumental Training Day 3, which shot up to number 3 in the albums chart. A year later and he’s still firing on all cylinders because he’s just dropped off a new freestyle, “Topshottas”, along with a massive announcement—he has just signed to 0207 Def Jam, the UK iteration of the hip-hop institution headed up by co-presidents Alex and Alec Boateng, MD Amy Tettey, marketing director Jacqueline Eyewe, A&R director Char Grant, and creative director Wretch 32. The freestyle itself, which pairs his typically poetic take on street hustling with speaker-rattling bass patterns, comes with visuals from director Darnell Elias DePradine who puts the rapper at the head of a class of aspiring students, hanging on his every word as he lets them in on his secrets to success. Speaking on the visual, DePradine said: “The coming together of the video was really smooth. We collaborated well with Groundworks to create a theme of mass production. Travis Barker signs to Warner Chappell

Warner Chappell has signed a worldwide administrative deal with Travis Barker, best known – of course – as the drummer in Blink 182. Aside from work with his own bands, Barker has also written and/or produced songs for the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Dirty Heads, Frank Carter and James Arthur. Most recently he has been collaborating with another Warner Chappell songwriter Jxdn, who is signed on the recordings side to DTA Records, a joint venture between Barker and Warner Music. Confirming the new deal, Warner Chappell SVPs of A&R – Greg Sowders and Katy Wolaver – say in a joint statement: “Travis’s authenticity has paved the way for him to continue to grow and endure as one of punk rock’s most charismatic and influential figures”. “Not only did his music define an entire era”, they add, “but his innovative, ongoing contributions to the contemporary musical landscape continue to shape culture. Travis has always found a way to infuse the DIY spirit of punk into every possible genre with amazing results. Lil Loaded commits suicide

Texas rapper Lil Loaded, who won viral success with a 2019 single and was facing a manslaughter charge in a fatal shooting last year, died Monday, officials said. The rapper, whose real name was Dashawn Robertson, 20, died by suicide, said his attorney, Ashkan Mehryari. An official with the Dallas County medical examiner's office said the cause and manner of death had not yet been determined. Robertson's 2019 song "6locc 6a6y" racked up more than 28 million views and was awarded a gold certification last week by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stanley Gabart, whose production company worked with Robertson's record label, Epic, told The Dallas Morning News that his death was a shock. "This kid was on a great path," he said, adding: "He was struggling with some things we wish we would've known about." Court records show that Robertson was charged with murder in the shooting of Khalil Walker on Oct. 25. A police account of the incident said the shooting occurred at a home southwest of downtown Dallas. When officers arrived, they were told that Walker, 18, had been taken to a hospital. Robertson was indicted this year on the less serious charge of manslaughter, accused of having "recklessly" caused Walker's death, the documents say. Walker was Robertson's best friend, The Morning News reported. Mehryari did not respond to a request for comment about the charge. It was not clear whether Robertson had entered a plea. Last month, prosecutors asked for Robertson's bond to be revoked after he tested positive for marijuana, a violation of the terms of his pretrial release.

P.Diddy announces new album.

A new era is upon us. Diddy's fifth album, Off the Grid, is coming Sept. 24, 2021, as announced on the rapper's social media accounts Wednesday (July 21).The album announcement comes in the form of two photographs posted to Diddy's Instagram account, both with stop-light red letters splashed across a stark black background. The first picture reads "OFF THE GRID vol. 1," while the other simply says "9.24.2021." "OFF THE GRID," Diddy -- born Sean Combs -- wrote in his caption. "The Album September 24, 2021. Welcome to the LOVE ERA!" He shared the same information on Twitter. (The "love era" refers to the rapper's latest name change. He revealed in May that he had legally changed his middle name to "Love.") Providing some mystery are the words "vol. 1" tacked on to the title, as they indicate there's potentially another full album counterpart coming from Combs. The upcoming record will mark his first release since 2015's MMM, a mixtape project saturated with collaborations from the likes of Lil' Kim, Future, Travis Scott, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa and more. The new album announcement follows the news of Combs inking a deal with manager Wassim "SAL" Slaiby, who famously represents The Weeknd. Combs will move into his new era in partnership with Slaiby and his company SALXCO as well as with WME, with whom he also signed this year. The rapper of many names (P. Diddy, Puff Daddy and Puffy, to name a few) is also a man of many projects. In addition to his new album, he's also working on his Excellence Program. Partnering with WME, he launched an education program in June aimed at developing aspiring entertainment executives from underrepresented neighborhoods. "Despacito" has shattered another YouTube record

"Despacito" has shattered another YouTube record by becoming the first video to reach 5bn views. The Spanish-language hit by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee was released in January 2017 and went onto break several records in music streaming, including one for the single with the most weeks at No.1 in the US, with 16 consecutive weeks. It also became the most-streamed song in the world after reaching 4.6bn plays. "Despacto"'s closest competitor is Wiz Khalifa's track "See You Again" ft. Charlie Puth, which was commissioned for the soundtrack of the 2015 action film Furious 7 as a tribute to the late actor Paul Walker. The title of "Despacito" which uses a classic reggaeton beat, means "slowly", while its incredibly sexual lyrics refer to trespassing danger zones. A remix featuring Justin Bieber also proved hugely popular - the two versions of the song combined make it the "most streamed song in history". Along with another Latin American track, "Mi Gente", it marked the first time in the Billboard Hot 100's 59 year history that two non-English language songs had ever appeared in the top 10 simultaneously. Last year, The Independent covered how non-English language songs have found more of an appeal in the UK and the US - particularly Spanish-language music. Justin Bieber breaks charts record.

Justin Bieber made history on Tuesday (July 20) as the youngest solo artist to ever hit 100 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the age of 27. The track that cinched the milestone was “Stay,” the synthy song on which he guested as a feature with The Kid Laroi and debuted at No. 3.

Prior to Bieber’s achievement, Drake previously held the career title at 28 years old in 2015 and is now in second place. Lil Wayne is next down in third place with his 100th Hot 100 scored at 29 years old in 2012. Taylor Swift, Future, Nicki Minaj, and Kanye West are among the artists who have also crossed this threshold. “Stay,” a lamenting, heartbreaking song pleading for a partner not to leave, was released on July 9. It marked the second collaboration between Bieber and Laroi since the track “Unstable” off Bieber’s recent album Justice, which was released in March early this year. The track was released with a music video that captured Laroi and Bieber as time appeared to be frozen around them. Bieber appeared on the rooftop of a building, where he delivered the second verse. Bieber gained his first Hot 100 in July 2009 with his debut single “One Time” and at the time, he was only 15 years old. Bieber has had seven songs hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 in total, with the most recent one being “Peaches,” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon. It peaked on April 3, 2021. Halsey has given birth to her first child with her boyfriend, Alev Aydin. The pop star announced the news today (July 19) via a photo on their Instagram, writing: “Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love.” She did not reveal the sex of the baby, who is called Ender Ridley Aydin and was born last Wednesday (July 14).Fans and fellow musicians commented on the news. 50 Cent confirms new album is in the works.

50 Cent has revealed that he’s releasing new music this September.

The rapper, actor, producer and businessman has said in a new interview that he plans to share his first new record in seven years soon. He told The Independent in response to rumours about his long-awaited album, ‘Street King Immortal’: “That original version is not [being released] but I’m releasing new music in September.” Despite his strong associations and past work with Eminem, who discovered him and signed him to Slim Shady records, 50 Cent said that Em will not feature on the forthcoming record. “I didn’t finish the tracks with him…” he added, referring to some sketches of songwriting the pair did together. “I’m not gonna tell who’s on it because I’m the most exciting person.” Elsewhere in the interview the rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, said that accusations of homophobia “stings”. When his past, offensive language was referenced in the interview – for instance in a notorious 2004 Playboy interview where he said he wasn’t “into f****ts” – Jackson reasoned that it could have been attributed to ’90s gangsta rap’s hypermasculine culture. He went on to say that he features a gay character, Laverne “Jukebox” Ganner, in the new Power spinoff Power Book III and that he did so to honour his late mother’s identity. When asked if the decision was influenced by the fact that his own mother was gay, Jackson said: “Cos of my mom. She was like that. She had a girlfriend around. These are things that feel like they’re going into the story organically, [so] it works.” As The Independent notes further, Jackson supported gay marriage during Barack Obama’s presidency and well as Frank Ocean when the artist came out in 2012. Biz Markie dead at 57.

Legendary rapper and "Clown Prince of Hip-Hop" Biz Markie's death on Friday was met with an outpouring of gratitude and admiration from fans and fellow artists alike."It is with profound sadness that we announce, this evening, with his wife Tara by his side, Hip Hop pioneer Biz Markie peacefully passed away," his manager Jenni Izumi said in a Friday statement provided to BuzzFeed News. "Biz created a legacy of artistry that will forever be celebrated by his industry peers and his beloved fans whose lives he was able to touch through music, spanning over 35 years. He leaves behind a wife, many family members and close friends who will miss his vibrant personality, constant jokes and frequent banter." The cause of death was not immediately made public. However, Markie, 57, was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in his late 40s, and was hospitalized last year for an extended period due to complications related to the disease, according to TMZ. Markie — whose given name was Marcel Theo Hall — was born in Harlem, New York, and was known for his beatboxing and his goofy persona. He was most famous for his 1989 platinum single, "Just A Friend," and later made well-received cameos in the movie Men In Black II and as Kenny the Cat in the show Spongebob Squarepants. He also appeared on the children's show Yo Gabba Gabba, where he taught kids to beatbox.
