L'Atelier Bakery, located in the center of the city, is a refuge for people seeking the ideal balance of art and enjoyment. This beautiful bakery has been dazzling the senses with wonderful creations, each of which exemplifies the power of passion and accuracy. L'Atelier's narrative began with a modest but daring vision: to establish a location where the art of French patisserie meets the friendliness of a neighborhood bakery. the bakery's founder and master pastry chef, made this goal a reality by pouring his heart and energy into everything it does.
The bakery itself is small, with little seating along the side wall. However, this does not detract from the enjoyment of dining here. The decor is distinctly Parisian, with accents of blush pink, rose gold, and leafy green. The seating is comfortable but not cumbersome, allowing customers to sit and speak for hours while enjoying their pastries. However, there is plenty of seating just beyond the bakery, in the area between L'atelier and Afrikoa Cafe, another of Laetitia's culinary creations. Alternatively, you can sit on the outdoor deck, which overlooks the bustling Keyes Art Mile below.
Customers can try a variety of L'atelier's wares, including a buffet of French cheese, cold meats, breads, and pâtés. But, of course, it was their delicious array of sweet treats that stole the show. To complete up the feast, we sampled L'atelier's buttery croissants, a little raspberry tart, a slice of vanilla custard tart, and a few macaroons. These nicely cooked pastries went down a treat, and they weren't overly sweet.
There were simply too many options. When you come, make sure to ask your waitress for assistance in selecting a taster plate. While we are confident that all of L'atelier's pastries are delicious, they can assist you in creating a culinary trip on your plate by combining sweet with sour, freshness with buttery richness, and the bitterness of dark, African chocolate with nutty flavours. Laetitia also made a point of asking guests back to try the bakery's cheesecake, which she describes as just wonderful. As cheesecake enthusiasts, we will undoubtedly return to try a slice or two.
