Group Basic Breastfeeding Classes: 2-4 Hour Course - $35 per couple  (Elgin Community Center Location)

Private In-Home Class -  $75 (30 Mile Service Area)

My classes offer educating parents on up-to-date, evidence-based resources on how breastfeeding is beneficial not only to babies, but to mothers and families. We go over steps for success, how lactation works, breastfeeding positions, getting the best latch, hunger cues, composition of breast milk, challenges faced during breastfeeding, and finally beyond the basics like pumping, going back to work, extended and tandem breastfeeding, and weaning. This is a great resource for first time parents or a refresher course for parents expecting again.

Prenatal Consultation: 60 minutes

These appointments are great for first time parents or those that had previous breast feeding challenges. This session may last up to an hour and we will discuss questions you may have about breastfeeding, diet, what to expect after birth and information on tools you may want to use in your breastfeeding journey. We also do a health history and breast assessment to discuss potential areas that may need extra support in the postpartum period.

Home Visit For Lactation Assessment/Support: 60-120 minutes

These appointments are for families that need help with breastfeeding such as positioning, latching, milk supply, nipple pain or soreness, expression skills, pumping and flange fittings, breastfeeding supplies or just needing that extra support with their breastfeeding goals. This can also include back to work preparation and telephone support.

Latched Mom Support Group: Free! (Dates/Times Coming Soon!)

A relaxed, safe place for mothers to come together, feed their babies and share their experiences. It’s a parent-led support group but also a great place to make new friends and get evidence-based support from your local IBCLC.
