Last Line - Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026
This privacy policy explains what information the mobile game Last Line ("the game", "we", "us") collects, how it is used and the choices you have. Last Line is developed by Ruan van Vollenstee.
Section 1 - Summary
You do not need an account to play, and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
Your game progress is stored only on your device.
The game shows ads through Unity LevelPlay, which works with ad networks such as ironSource Ads and Unity Ads (and may include Google AdMob). These ad partners may collect device information, such as your advertising ID, to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first.
In-app purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your payment details.
On Android, the game sends anonymous gameplay statistics to GameAnalytics so we can find levels that are too hard and improve the game.
On iPhone and iPad, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase only to count app installs and opens, so we can measure our Google Ads campaigns.
On Android, the game also uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record when a level ends and when a player first clears a level, so we can see which Google Ads bring real players.
If you sign in with Google Play Games on Android, your achievements are saved to your Play Games profile.
Section 2 - Information stored on your device
The game saves your progress on your device. This includes levels cleared, coins, gems, upgrades, items you have bought, settings and daily reward status. This save file is not sent to us or anyone else.
You can erase it at any time with Settings > Reset Progress, or by uninstalling the game.
Section 3 - Advertising (Unity LevelPlay)
The game shows rewarded videos (which you choose to watch), short ad breaks and banner ads. Ads are delivered through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service by Unity Technologies, which picks an ad from its partner networks: currently ironSource Ads and Unity Ads, and possibly Google AdMob or other networks added later. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, LevelPlay and these ad networks may collect and process:
your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA, when you allow it),
your IP address and approximate location derived from it,
device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version),
how you interact with ads.
The ad partners' use of this data is described in their policies:
Unity (LevelPlay, ironSource Ads and Unity Ads): https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
ironSource Ads: https://developers.is.com/ironsource-mobile/air/ironsource-mobile-privacy-policy/
Google (if AdMob is used): https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://policies.google.com/privacy
The consent choice you make in the game (see below) is passed to LevelPlay and its ad networks before any ad is requested.
Your choices
EEA, UK and Switzerland: you are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy.
US states with privacy laws (for example California): you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for targeted ads in Settings > Privacy.
iPhone / iPad: the game asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, your IDFA is not shared, and you can change this later in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings (Settings > Google > Ads or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
The Remove Ads purchase turns off ad breaks and banners. Rewarded videos stay optional.
Section 4 - In-app purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your name, card or bank details. The store confirms the purchase to the game with a transaction identifier and receipt, which is stored on your device so your items can be delivered and restored (Settings > Restore Purchases).
Section 5 - Gameplay analytics (GameAnalytics, Android)
On Android, the game uses GameAnalytics to understand how the game is played, for example which levels players start, win or lose, which upgrades they buy, when ads are watched and which in-game products are bought. With these events GameAnalytics receives:
a random identifier created for the game install, and on Android your advertising ID when available,
device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version, country derived from your IP address),
session start, end and length.
We use this only in aggregate to balance and improve the game. It does not include your name, email address or payment details. See GameAnalytics' privacy policy: https://gameanalytics.com/privacy
Ad measurement (Google Analytics for Firebase, Android)
On Android, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record two game events: the end of each level attempt (the wave reached and zombies defeated) and, once per install, the first level cleared. We use these only to measure which of our Google Ads bring players who actually play. Firebase receives a random app-instance identifier, your advertising ID when allowed, device and app information, and these events. Until you answer the consent question (EEA, UK and Switzerland) every consent signal is set to "denied", and your answer is passed to Firebase as to our ad partners. See https://policies.google.com/privacy
Achievements (Google Play Games, Android)
On Android, the game signs in to Google Play Games automatically if you use it, and unlocks achievements on your Play Games profile (for example clearing levels or collecting heroes). Google Play Games receives your Play Games player ID and the achievements you unlock. You can manage or turn off Play Games in the Google Play Games app or your Google account settings. See https://policies.google.com/privacy
Install measurement (Google Analytics for Firebase, iPhone and iPad)
On iPhone and iPad, the game includes Google Analytics for Firebase. We use it only to measure whether our Google Ads campaigns lead to installs (for example the automatic "first open" and session events). It does not receive gameplay details. Firebase receives a random app-instance identifier (and your IDFA only if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt), device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version, country derived from your IP address), and app opens and session length.
Until you answer the consent question (EEA, UK and Switzerland), Firebase runs with every consent signal set to "denied". Your answer is passed to Firebase in the same way as to our ad partners. See Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses data from apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Section 6 - Game engine
Last Line is made with the Unity game engine. Unity may collect limited technical information about the device (such as hardware model and operating system) to keep the engine working correctly. See https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
Section 7 - What we do not do
We do not operate our own servers that receive your personal information.
We do not sell your personal information ourselves.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Section 8 - Children
Last Line is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
Section 9 - Data retention and deletion
The progress data on your device stays there until you reset progress or uninstall the game. Advertising data collected by our ad partners (Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads and, if used, Google) is kept according to their policies. You can reset your advertising ID as described above. For any request about your data, contact us (see below).
Section 10 - Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR (EU/UK), POPIA (South Africa) or US state laws, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we do not hold personal information about you on our own systems, most requests are best handled through the in-game privacy settings and the ad partners' controls above. You can also contact us, and we will help.
Section 11 - Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
