Effort: 4-8 hours per week
2-year term, 1st as Vice President and 2nd as President or Co-President
What we mean:
President/Co-President: We’re looking for a creative problem-solver who is comfortable delegating and who can help us focus on the agenda when everyone starts talking about their kids or the latest binge-worthy series. A sense of humor is a big plus—and if you know how to say “no” without provoking a tantrum, even better. If you’re ready to play a substantial role in supporting our school, we want to hear from you!
Vice President: So you’d like to get more involved in the school parent group, but you’re not sure you’re ready to take the lead role? Our vice president position has your name written all over it! You’ll learn behind-the-scenes intel and be part of decision making on important issues throughout the year. You’ll help the President get things done—kind of like a superhero’s sidekick, but without the silly costume.
Secretary
What our bylaws say:
Keep the minutes of all meeting of the LASA Executive Board; maintain master documents; keep the calendar of events for LASA; prepare correspondence and perform other duties assigned. (Effort: 3-4 hours per month.)

What we mean:
Be honest—you’re the one in your friend group who filled out every page in your child’s baby book...right on time. You save every school email because it might be handy later. And you hate to brag about it, but you're super organized. If you’re the kind of person who documents everything and knows where to find anything, we have the perfect role for you. You’ll get to put your stellar record-keeping skills and attention to detail to good use as our meeting secretary. You must have good listening and computer skills— extra credit if you can play Candy Crush at the same time. And it is the smallest time commitment of any LASA board position, so you can get right back to your "Kon-Marie-ing".

We have big plans to raise money and fund important projects for our school, and we need someone who likes to count every penny to help us do it. (Can you believe some people don't color-code their family budget? It's not like it's hard!) If you secretly love to categorize expenses and create nifty pie charts, you have what it takes to be our treasurer. Bonus points if you get teased about how often you log in to the personal finance app on your smartphone.
