Mr Word

My name is Michael Word and I've been teaching geometry for over 30 years. Geometry was the first math class that I really enjoyed, and I still love learning new geometrical relationships and connections with other disciplines. 

When I'm not teaching, I'm usually solving a never-ending set of real-world problems that my 1925 house presents with uncanny regularity. 

Both of my kids are recent LASA alumni; my son is class of '22 and my daughter is class of '24 . I feel very honored to be part of the outstanding math team here at LASA.

Mr Mueller

I have been teaching at LASA since 2013 after a 22 year career as a digital chip designer here in Austin. I have a MS from UT in Electrical Engineering and BSEE & minor in CS from Missouri S&T. 

I have worked on CISC & RISC microprocessors as well as networking ASICs. I teach Fundamentals of CS, AP CS (sometimes), and Digital Electronics, and now Geometry.

My wife, daughter, and son (LASA 2019) are all working engineers.

Office Hours
Tuesday 7:10am-8:10am drop-in Room 506 (I am usually here that time every morning)

Thursday @ lunch make an appointment here at least one hour before lunch
