Molding is a material used to produce picture frames. Our molding is made from wood and shaped into various designs using machinery and hand carving.
It is then finished with coloring, film
application, or gilding using our company's specialized advanced techniques. Customers can purchase it and cut and assemble it into picture frames according to their desired sizes freely.
「ATAGOYAMA」 is the name of our company molding, The production steps are as follows:
Step 1
「ATAGOYAMA」 using Ayous wood for production, starting with cutting the wood to the customer's desired size, cutting the wood for 2 hours
Step 2
Taken The wood to the coating machine, done 6 times, Coated with a mixture made from latex glue, CMT powder, and calcium, mixed with water until well combined. take time about 7-8 hours. and left to dry for 1 night.
Step 3
Taken The wood for surface smoothing, which takes about 10 minutes. then sprayed with an adhesive called leather glue,
left to dry and sanded smooth about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Taken The wood for sanding and painting, smoothed with sandpaper, then painted with color called Asebe yellow paint once,
left to dry and then painted red 6 times, take time about 30 minutes then left to dry
Step 5
Taken to apply gold leaf by using a mixture called water glue, which consists of 1 sheet of gelatin boiled with clean water.
resulting in a clear liquid applied before attaching the gold leaf. Used Italian gold sheets.
After gilding then polished, bonstar polish and coated with shellac.
This process takes 3-4 hours per piece of wood.
Taken to apply Italian gold leaf again, wiped with varnish before gilding.
This takes about 10 minutes, using cotton to smooth it out.
Left to dry 1 night.
Step 6
Taken to decoration, first coated with black varnish, then using a brush to dab dots all over. Left to dry, used fabric scraps dipped in black powder
known as Adolia powder and applied all over, Bonstar, used fabric scraps dust off the excess powder. This process takes about 30 minutes per piece.
Left to dry 1 night.
Step 7
Last step. Sprayed with a brown color at background for about 30-40 seconds, then left to dry for 1 night.
