This is an interactive light piece based on the biomimicry of a blood jellyfish.
The light piece I created was inspired from a blood jellyfish. I was highly inspired by the colors and the shape of this jelly fish when making this piece.
This light piece changes color based on sound and movement. To make the form of the piece sturdy, I used wires to make the skeleton of the piece. Then i applied parchment paper on top of the piece for the light to be diffused through the paper. *I used a red parchment paper to resemble the color of the blood jellyfish*
I used the microbit and an led light with 8 strips for this project.
Overall, Making this piece was challenging because I had to get inspired by a real life aquatic animal but create piece with my own creative spin to it. The image above is the code I created for the microbit and how sound and movement would affect the colors emitted by the led. I made the code in a way that the light strips was separated in half. so the first 4 strips would show one color and the remaining 4 strips would show another color. I did this so the colors would blend together nicely while being diffused through the parchment paper.
