Graduate researcher

PhD student

Elisa has a background in Psychology (BSc) and Language Sciences (MSc) and has worked as a research assistant at City University of London, before beginning her doctoral work at UCL. Her research interest is on language, ageing and cognition in people with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. She has a passion for exercise and regularly volunteers for Downright Excellent (DEx!) running online athletics for young people with Down syndrome.

Dr Perovic research focuses on the development of syntax and pragmatics in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down syndrome, Williams syndrome and Specific Language Impairment, in English and cross-linguistically. 

Secondary supervisor

Professor of Intellectual Disabilities
Division of Psychiatry (UCL)

Prof Hassiotis works as a consultant psychiatrist at the Camden Learning Disabilities Service. Her research focus is on testing of interventions to improve wellbeing in people with intellectual disabilities.
