The Langston Hughes High School JROTC program was established in the 2010-2011 school year under Principal Dr. Michael Robinson. Our program's mission is to motivate young people to be better citizens. Our program is a student-led program. However, every program needs experienced and wise leaders.
JROTC is fun, and it provides opportunities that cannot be found in any other program. Students enrolled in JROTC have the benefit to overcome common obstacles in education, as well as the structure and discipline of the program. The program encounters improving life skills and developing personal responsibility. JROTC also promotes wellness and fitness. Moreover, it helps cadets improve critical thinking skills. Our strong foundation is based on the Seven Army Values Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. In JROTC, we get involved in our school and our community; we are required to participate in Service Learning and Community Service Projects.
