Karate gradings are examinations where students prove their skills, discipline, and understanding of the syllabus to advance to the next rank, symbolised by a new belt color (kyu grades) or a black belt level (dan grades).
These tests assess physical techniques, ensuring students are ready to learn more advanced concepts, marking milestones in their martial arts journey.
We will put you through gradings when we think you are ready. Practising outside of class will help you progress. Gradings take place during a class where you will be assessed by Sensei Terry.
Grading of children (mon grades) is undertaken in a structured yet relaxed manner, designed to promote confidence and reduce anxiety.
