London Mathematical Society (LMS) Symposia
LMS symposia began in 1974, and have been a fixture in the international calendar and a highlight in a research area. They are held every summer and cover the full breadth of mathematics. From 2026–2030 they will be held at the University of Sheffield, UK, thanks to Haluk Sengun and Mark Yarrow.
They usually involve either a research primer or a school, and a symposium.
Our Symposium
The Langlands programme has become a cornerstone of modern number theory, and predicts the existence of a bridge relating harmonic analysis and arithmetic.
Our symposium will focus on four themes, and the interconnections and synergies between them. The themes are:
(A) Recent trends in the Langlands programme
(B) Explicit constructions in the Langlands programme
(C) The relative Langlands programme
(D) The Langlands programme and analytic number theory
