2021 Snap-Grid Mousepad Project

Mouse Pads are some of the most overlooked and used objects that people use everyday. Approximately 86% of people have a desk job in the U.S. and it can be assumed that Mouse Pads are used. This is important because it's an item that gets overlooked and used for hours everyday. Many People have large or small desks and want a mouse pad to fit their needs. Many have wrist issues due to lack of support and constant strain.  This project Mouse Pad that snaps together to create your own personal size mouse pad to fit the needs of the co. This item can impact approximately 286 million people who work at a desk in the U.S. It could possibly increase productivity and reduce the strain on people causing them to be more comfortable at their desks.

Procedures used to test the finished product are material durability testing and fitment testing to ensure reliability. Testing consisted of normal everyday use and occasional vigorous use for 8 hour days for a week.

Observations such as the edges of the fabric on top peeling apart and weak glue led to the first prototype falling apart. The second prototype was successful and was able to withstand the tests. 

This project can impact many people due to the tremendous amount of jobs in the U.S. and even the rest of the world that are desk jobs and require a keyboard and mouse.
