Welcome to the website of the first Lancaster County Bird-A-Thon. This contest is intended to raise funds for Conservation and Community purposes. Please join us on September 22nd to bird for Conservation!

What is a Bird a Thon?

A Bird-A-Thon is a 24 hour race to find the most species of birds, usually in a restricted geographical area. Teams of four to eight people are formed to take part in the contest. Each team bets a certain amount of money per bird they find (e.g. $1 per bird), and submit their money with their total species count when the day is over. Great prizes are won by teams who find the most species of birds!

How Can I Participate in The Lancaster county Bird a Thon?

Please read though the complete rules, regulations, and information pages on this website. Then, form a team with your birding companions. Register, and be ready to bird on September 22nd! All skill levels of birders are welcome, and your team doesn't need to bird for the grand prize to participate. We need all birders from everywehere to participate in order to make this event a conservation success.
