Dr Allahyar Montazeri
Biography
Dr Montazeri is one of the leading experts in control engineering, robotics, and information processing in UK. He is an executive board member of the EPSRC-funded hub, UK Automatic Control Engineering Network in which he is co-chairing the future mobility committee. He has been working on robotics and autonomous systems as co-investigator on a £11.5M EPSRC-funded hub, National Centre for Nuclear Robotics, and has led several projects with National Nuclear Laboratory, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and Sellafield Ltd. He is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of an Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems and Associate Editor of the journals Frontiers in Robotics and AI, Automation MDPI, and Science Progress. He also serves as IFAC Technical Committees 'Adaptive and Learning Systems' and 'Modelling, Identification, and Signal Processing'. Dr Montazeri was a visiting research scholar at Automatic Control Laboratory, ETH, Zurich and Process Control Group, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has been Humboldt research fellow and ERCIM research fellow hosted by Fraunhofer Institute of Digital Media Technology (FHG-IDMT) and Technical University of Ilmenau working on design and development of active sound field control systems for automotive industry. His research interests cover areas such as control theory, robotics and autonomous system, and and machine learning. Particularly his area of expertise is nonlinear adaptive and robust control systems, linear and nonlinear system identification, estimation theory, machine learning based optimization as well as learning-based signal and information processing. He is the theme lead for Advanced Manufacturing group at Lancaster Intelligent, Robotic and Autonomous Systems Centre.
