Course Summary:
Scroll to Scripture, Part 2: What Do You Really Know About the Bible?
Scroll to Scripture, Part 2 builds on your reading in My Confirmation by inviting you to step back and look at the Bible as a whole. Instead of focusing on individual verses or isolated stories, this course helps you see what the Bible is, how it holds together, and why it can feel both simple and complicated at the same time.
You will begin with a focused reading assignment from My Confirmation, then move into Faith+Lead’s Genesis to Revelation: A Bible Overview. This overview traces the broad story of Scripture from beginning to end without getting bogged down in a book-by-book survey. The goal is not mastery, but orientation—learning how the pieces fit together and why they matter.
Along the way, you will be introduced to several time-tested ways Christians have read the Bible, including:
reading for the red thread that connects Scripture
reading the Bible as a tapestry of stories and voices
listening for whispers of God’s presence in unexpected places
hearing Scripture as a chorus rather than a single voice
These approaches help explain why faithful Christians can read the same Bible and hear different things—and why that diversity is not a problem to solve, but a gift to receive.
This course is designed to support self-directed learners. You do not need to have all the answers. Optional resources, including visual overviews, short background mini-courses, and sermon examples, are provided to deepen understanding and give you practical tools you can continue using long after this module ends.
By the end of this course, you will have a clearer sense of how the Bible fits together, greater confidence in opening Scripture on your own, and a growing awareness of how reading carefully can shape faith, understanding, and practice.
Scroll to Scripture, Part 2 is not about telling you what to think. It is about helping you learn how to read—thoughtfully, faithfully, and with curiosity—so Scripture can continue to speak in your life and in the life of the Church.
