The Lammermoor Terrace site is allocated for housing in the East Lothian Local Development Plan which was adopted by East Lothian Council in September 2018 under PROP TT4. An extract of the Proposal Map for Tranent is shown above.
PROP TT4: Lammermoor Terrace, Tranent
Land at Lammermoor Terrace, Tranent is allocated for circa 120 homes. A design solution for the entire allocated site that conforms to the Council’s Development Brief will be required. Any development here is subject to the mitigation of any development related impacts, including on a proportionate basis for any cumulative impacts with other proposals including on the transport network, on education and community facilities, and on air quality as appropriate.
The ELLDP further states "in line with PROP ED3, primary education capacity for site TT4 shall be provided at Windygoul Proimary School. To ensure additional primary education capacity can be provided for the development of site TT4, contributions towards the expansion of the school will be required, including towards the additional safeguarded campus land; alternatively development of TT4 will be delayed unless and until capacity becomes available at Windygoul Primary School.
The cumulative impacts on the capacity of the Edinburgh Road junction and on wider traffic air quality considerations will require mitigation. Access to the local road network is possible. A flood risk Assessment will be necessary. Structural landscape planting and open space provision is required to integrate the site with the surroundings".
