This band is mentioned in Watford history as playing at the 1897 fall fair. It was led by Will ("Professor") Hastings. It was present at the church service to send off troops during world war I (see the description on the Sarnia 27th Regiment Band page). The band gave regular concerts at the Watford bandstand. In 1924, it was noted that the band looked very striking at its concert "with tall silk hats, long frock coats, and white gloves". Note: a "silver" band refers to the colour of the band's instruments. They were silver, compared with the usual "brass" coloured instruments of most bands.
