Auditions

Auditions help us find voices that create a balanced ensemble and give musical and spiritual life to the Easter story.

We do our best to make the experience warm and encouraging!

Musicians of all faiths are invited to audition for the orchestra (strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion), 13 vocal solo roles, as well as choir positions alongside Emerald Valley Voices on January 21 & 22 from 6-9:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1155 President St., Eugene, Oregon. You may audition on a first come first served basis, or sign up for a specific time slot below. All positions are volunteer (unpaid), and soloists are asked to participate in the choir.

Rehearsals will be held from 7-9 pm Thursday nights beginning January 29th at 1155 President St. in Eugene. Attendance is expected at all Thursday rehearsals with mandatory dress rehearsals on Wednesday April 1, and Thursday April 2 from 6:30-9:30 pm. Performances will be at 7:00 pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday, April 3, 4, & 5, call time at 6:00 pm.

To audition for the orchestra:

• Prepare instrument excerpts found at links below. If your instrument isn't listed below, come prepared to play anything that shows the range of your skills.

• Prepare and perform a piece (classical, hymn, or musical theater suggested) to be sung a capella or with sheet music you provide.

To audition as a soloist:

• Prepare soloist material at links below or be prepared to quickly learn and perform an excerpt at the audition upon request.
