Rushing a fraternity is one of the best decisions you can make in college, and the reason is simple: the people. At Lambda Chi Alpha, you are not just joining an organization, you are building relationships with men who will show up for you during the best and hardest moments of your life. Whether it is late nights studying together, weekend memories you could not have planned if you tried, or just having a house full of people who genuinely have your back, the brotherhood you find here is something you cannot get anywhere else on campus. These are not just your college friends. They are your groomsmen, your business partners, your references, and your people for the rest of your life.

Do I need to register before coming to events?
Yes. Registration for Fall 2026 recruitment closes on August 24th so make sure you sign up before then or you risk missing out on the entire process.
Are the orientation and visitation events really mandatory?
They are. Recruitment Orientation and both the Off Row and On Row Chapter Visitation Tours are required. If you have a conflict you need to fill out the Excuse Submission Form ahead of time. Unexcused absences can get you removed from IFC Formal Recruitment entirely.
How much does it cost to join?
Dues vary depending on whether you live in or out of the house but we are always happy to talk through the numbers one on one so you have a clear picture before making any decisions.
What if I do not know anyone in the fraternity?
That is completely normal and honestly how most guys come in. The whole point of rush is to meet brothers and find where you belong. Just show up with an open mind and let the process work.

What to Expect During Rush
August 22nd — Meet the Greeks
This is a great low pressure way to get a first look at Greek life at UF before formal recruitment kicks off. Stop by, introduce yourself, and get comfortable before things get more structured.
August 25th or 27th — Recruitment Orientation
All PNMs are assigned to one of two orientation sessions based on their group number. Groups 1 through 26 attend on August 25th and groups 27 through 52 attend on August 27th. This is where you will learn how the process works and what to expect going forward. This event is mandatory so make sure you know your group number and show up.
August 29th — Off Row Chapter Visitation Tours
You will get the chance to visit chapters that are not located on Fraternity Row. This is a great opportunity to see different houses and start getting a feel for where you might fit in.
August 30th — On Row Chapter Visitation Tours
This is your chance to walk through the houses on Fraternity Row, including ours. Come ready to have real conversations with brothers and get a genuine feel for the Lambda Chi Alpha brotherhood.
August 31st through September 3rd — Formal Recruitment Invitation Rounds
This is where things get official. Chapters extend invitations to the men they want to get to know better and you will have the chance to spend more intentional time with the brotherhoods you are most interested in. Put your best foot forward and be genuine.
