Portable Bicycle Mounted Water Purification System

Undergraduate Btech Project, Mentor: Prof. Sameer Khandekar, IIT Kanpur (Aug 2018 - present)

  • Design and manufacture a system consisting of a bicycle driven pump, integrated with a purification unit (based on polymeric nano-fibres) at an optimum cost.
  • A complete CAD assembly of centrifugal pump coupled with bicycle wheel has been made in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Design calculations for centrifugal pump for a given suction head & flow rate has been made. Also, FEM analysis of pump support frames has been performed in SOLIDWORKS.

CFD Numerical Simulation of Rayleigh-Benard Convection

Course project, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer ME630A, Mentor: Prof. Malay K. Das, IIT Kanpur (Dec 2016 - Apr 2017)

  • Modeled a steady 2-D laminar natural convective flow and heat transfer in a rectangular enclosure, bounded by stationary, impermeable walls from physical domain to computational domain and applied appropriate boundary conditions. Formulation of vorticity transport equation.
  • Designed and Implemented a FORTRAN code for solving the problem using Gauss-Siedel method & vorticity stream-function approach .
  • Computed Velocity and Temperature field inside the enclosure and plotted their contours for visualization and verification of results.

Energy Harvesting through flexible solar clothing for animals

  • Designed and built an flexible solar clothing which can be used to harvest electricity by mounting it on grazing animals Proof of concept pictures
  • Applied for National GYTI Awards 2017 for unique innovation.
  • Currently, in procedure for application of Provisional Indian Patent


Manufacturing and critical analysis of a novel Braiding Machine

Team Project for Manufacturing Processes-2, Mentor: Prof. Niraj Sinha, IIT Kanpur (Jan 2016 - Apr 2016)

  • Designed CAD model of machine which can braid three threads into a rope at a time.
  • Manufactured the product using processes like turning, drilling, milling.
  • Displayed the working of manufactured braiding machine.

Design of a Mechanical Wrist Watch

Team Project for Engineering Design & Graphics, Mentor: Prof. Nachiketa Tiwari, IIT Kanpur (Aug 2015 - Nov 2015)

  • Designed a 3D CAD model of mechanical wrist watch with all its finer components.
  • Animated the working of mechanical watch CAD in Inventor Studio

Manufacturing of a 'Turtle Ship'

  • Designed and Built a Structural model of Ship identical to one used in older times.
  • Received a certificate of appreciation for securing 2nd position.
  • Used processes like casting, grinding, welding, brazing, etc.

Solar Simulation

Winter project on "Effect of solar irradiation spectral vairiation on efficiency of PV panels", under Prof. Jishnu Bhattacharya, IIT Kanpur (Dec 2016 - Jan 2017)

  • Analysed effect of solar spectrum on power output of Photovoltaic panel using TRNSYS.
  • Analysed effect of temperature on solar panel efficiency using TRNSYS.
