Rest, apping (emails) to US, European Professors have also worked for many aspirants in the past. Also, some doesn't have CPI restrictions. I know personally people with low CPI to get internship in France, US with just email (sincere) and efforts in finding out prof.s, and spending lots of time in searching. Internship requires a lot of time investment so manage academics with it properly.
