Lakeshore North is a welcoming and friendly neighbourhood located at the northern boundary of Waterloo. Close to the city amenities but minutes from the picturesque countryside.
The defined boundaries of Lakeshore North are Benjamin Road to the north, Westmount Road to the west, Northfield Drive to the south and Weber Street to the east. But often our community works with and includes neighbouring areas in our endeavours. Laurelwood Conservation Area is located just west of the neighbourhood and to the northeast is St. Jacobs Farmer's Market and St. Jacobs Playhouse Theatre.
Located in the centre of the neighbourhood is Northlake Woods Public School. Children from our area also attend Cedarbrae Public School, N A MacEachern Public School, and Sir Edgar Bauer Catholic School (both located in Lakeshore, south of Northfield Drive). Lakeshore Cooperative Nursery School, a longstanding parent co-operating preschool is located at the Christian Fellowship Church in the east side of the neighbourhood.
Our neighbourhood boasts 3 large parks with playgrounds. Cornerbrook Park in the west side of the neighbourhood, Pinebrook Park in the centre and Lakeshore Optimist Park in the east. Soccer fields, a tennis court and basketball court are also located at Pinebrook Park. Benjamin Park is a linear walking park in the trees along the north side of Northlake Drive (part of the TransCanada Trail), and a small playground area can also be found on Jacob Lane in the northeast.
Dotted through out the neighbourhood are Little Libraries. For more information on Little Libraries visit: https://llkw.ca Have a little library you'd like us to mark on our neighbourhood map? Let us know!
