The Lakeland Special Education Parent Teacher Association welcomes you to a promising new school year!  As parents, we all support our children on their educational journey.  As a SEPTA, we work collaboratively to support the Lakeland schools through events and volunteer opportunities.

Please consider supporting Lakeland SEPTA by becoming a member.  The money raised from membership and from our fundraisers goes directly back into the schools, supporting the children, teachers, and parents in the district.

What Are Its Goals?
To ensure each special needs children receives the best possible free appropriate public education, resulting in the children reaching his or her full potential.
To encourage children with special needs to participate in regular education programs as much as possible,
To bring together parents, teachers, administrators, therapists and friends of children with varying needs in order to share their experiences and expertise.
To keep parents informed of issues and changes in the laws affecting their children.
To familiarize parents with the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and its process of programs for children with special needs.
To educate the community at large for the need of Special Education Programs.

Who Can Join SEPTA?  Anyone can become a Member !!

• WHAT are WE? An organized group of parents on a mission to support our children and other parents in our community.

•  WHY? The best and most appropriate answer: WHY NOT?! You want the best for your child, and the way to accomplish this is to BE INVOLVED!

• HOW? Sign up by filling out the SEPTA Membership form and and pay a small annual membership fee is all it takes. Come to meetings, give us your thoughts and opinions, send us emails... Your valuable input is NEEDED!
