Middle School Bands

The Junior Band is comprised of students in 7th-8th grade. This ensemble studies and performs middle school music literature for home concerts.

The Cadet Band is comprised of students in 8th-9th grade. This ensemble studies and performs intermediate music literature for home concerts.

Honor Bands. Students who show the highest level of commitment, dedication, and musicality are eligible to apply to participate in regional honor bands. These select students have the opportunity to perform with other student musicians from across the state of Minnesota and Tri-State area.
Lake City Junior Band Festival
The Lake City Junior Band Festival is the longest running middle school band festival in the state of Minnesota. For over 28 years, Lake City has been the homesite for an outstanding day of wonderful mid-level music performance and clinic. This music event hosts 12 performing ensembles and over 1000 students!
