Testimonials
Good thing : I'm learning to master my mind...and feeling and learning to be the change. Reconditioning. Thank you. I'm going to foodfast as well to be able to let go completely. Its a process. ALSO thanks to your exercises I'm back to normal. Feel like a baby. Everything super intense.
Wow… took me awhile to post because I am STILL processing and feel so soft so tender so sensitive from the experience I had spending time in Sante Fe, New Mexico at Rainbow Bride Village. 4 days felt like 4 lifetimes which also felt like only 4 seconds. Funny how time works when you’re healing.
When you’re working with Spirit..
The concept of time no longer becomes linear but rather circular.
There, I was in a circle of powerful Filipinos.
Healing with Kapwas.
Remembering.
Learning from Mamerto (Lagitan) Tindongan, an Indigenous Mumbaki (Shaman) and Elder of the Philippines from the Ifugao tribe. Who exudes familiar joyful loving paternal energy.
He taught us indigenous knowledge and practices to help us reconnect with the earth, heal, and live simply.
Lagitan is his indigenous name which means to make “dark.”
There I journeyed with what my eyes can only see behind my eyelids.
So humbling.
So much joy.
So many tears.
So much shedding.
So much uncomfort
So much comfort
So much remembering.
So much community.
So much healing..
The memories and connections made are held so close to my heart. I am full and grateful and reminded of the purpose as to why I choose this path that I am on.
I am so thankful for my teachers who guided me on this journey and look forward to the teachers I have yet to meet.
@empresskarenmrose , my Spiritual Herbalism Teacher who introduced to me what it means to truly heal when we connect with our Ancestors and are in community with plants. @jlcreator , my teacher who taught me about the Filipino history through a decolonized lens and connected me to a community of Filipinx.
No pill no medication no prescription from a doctor could ever bring the healing I’ve experienced at the retreat and from the teachings and wisdom of my teachers to always, walk with the Ancestors

Ang buhay ay patungkol sa pamumuhay
dumating man sa punto na maitanim sa hukay
mananatili itong punla na aagapay sa ating paglalakbay
ito ang ating palantandaan na sa lupa na ito tayo na buhay
Muling mabubuhay
Mabura man ang mga kasanayan
Magbago man ang kaugalian
May taong nakapagtabi ng mga piraso
Hangga't pinag-uusapan
Hangga't may nakikinig
Hangga't may interesado

Uncle Mamerto does his best to preserve culture, and educate young generation, and help reconnect his community to their culture. Kulang ang pahina na ito, to share my experience with him and in his community.

(ENGLISH)
Life is all about living
even if it reaches the point where it will be planted in the grave
it will remain a bridge that will accompany our journey
this is our sign that on this earth we are alive
Will be alive again
Even if the skills are erased
Even if the habit changes
Someone put the pieces aside
As long as it is being talked about
As long as someone is listening
As long as someone is interested
There is a possibility in the making
This is how I describe faith
Even though I don't see it
My soul is experiencing it
Unexplainable love
And it feels good
Sometimes you just have to be an open book
Because stories have the right person
The cover of the book is different
Its content has only one source.

P.S. Just wanted to share this experience. What a wonderful experience to reconnect with a culture. I may not have come from here, I still learned and possibly opened with hope.
And I met Apu Mamerto "Lagitan" Tindongan Mamerto Tindongan. One of the important people in Ifugao culture. As a steward of tradition, and land today during the influence of colonization is a challenge and opportunity. Uncle Mamerto does his best to preserve culture, and educate young generation, and help reconnect his community to their culture. This page is lacking, to share my experience with him and in his community.
Since returning from my visit to see Mamerto Tindongan and our diaspora community and relations at Bulalayaw, I noticed a true difference. I welcome and embrace this difference because I feel happy and at peace. Sometimes the difference scares me somewhat because I think this difference was about taming the fire within me that I have been using to survive and to feel, it’s been what has guided me to safety and strength. But thinking back, it has been very strong and maybe it has been destructive when not also combining this with cultivating an intentional relationship of also taking and controlling the fire at times… meaning to keep it going and lit but using it in a different way….
it does scare me a bit but i do trust what i’ve learned and will continue to cultivate amongst the other learnings and connections that were ignited during my visit.
forever blessed ~
learned the bolo knife and another lesson in healing with teacher Mamerto Tindongan, Mumbaki of Ifugao
