eBooks and Audiobooks

Want an e-Book that will read with you?

We're lucky to have so many resources to read e-books, magazines and listen to audiobooks online! Many of our e-book websites have e-books that will actually read along with you! This is a great way to become a better reader. Ms. Leese put together a list and directions that you can read here!

Lafayette's Collection

You have access to audiobooks and ebooks for free! You can read the ebooks that Ms. Leese and DCPS have bought for you through our card catalog. You will need to log in with your username and password. Here's a video tutorial on finding ebooks. Enjoy!

Sora by Overdrive

Access DCPS ebooks, audiobooks and magazines, and enjoy DC Public Library's collection (no card needed!), by logging into Sora! Many of Sora's e-books can be enjoyed on e-readers (like Kindles or Kobos). You can access Sora through Clever or by going here. The setup code is DCPSDC. You'll have to add libraries yourself. I've made a video tutorial to get you started, and a more thorough walkthrough video.

Epic!

Epic! is a collection of ebooks and audiobooks, both fiction and nonfiction, including favorites from National Geographic, picture books and graphic novels. If your teacher has signed up your class for free access, you can sign in with your class code. Unfortunately, Epic is not fully free after school or during the summer.
