OUR CLASSES

Acro - Controlled moves that involve balance, flexibility, and contortion. Students will learn tricks such as walkovers, chest rolls, handstands, various rolls, flips, and even partner work.

Aerial - Made popular by companies such as Cirque Du Soleil, Aerial makes use of materials such as fabric, trapeze, lyra, and more to teach students tricks, poses, and skills in the air.

Ballet - As one of the oldest forms of dance technique, Ballet dates back to the 15th century and remains a staple in core dance technique. Students begin by learning the fundamentals of dance technique including proper posture, body placement, and balance. In advanced levels, students will branch out into more complicated technique and steps, with a stronger emphasis on performance quality. A mix of Cecchetti and Vaganova technique is taught.

Contemporary Ballet - The Ballet world is constantly evolving and moving more towards a new contemporary style that isn’t afraid to be bold and experiment with new forms of movement! Contemporary Ballet aims to introduce students to the core fundamentals of ballet: barre, center, and across the floor work, and infuse it with the updated styles, movements, and music of Modern dance (Graham, Limone and Cunningham influenced technique); all while reinforcing proper technique and placement.

Hip Hop - Made popularized by street dance styles and primarily performed to hip hop music. Students will learn a wide range of Hip Hop styles including street, breaking, and more. Tumbling is often included in Hip Hop class.

Jazz/Lyrical - Utilizing the fundamentals of Ballet technique, Jazz and Lyrical comprises of more free form movement set to contemporary music. Students will learn steps and across the floor combinations including turns, leaps, extensions, and more; all with a more upbeat and contemporary feel!

Musical Theatre - Students will learn dances and styles from popular movies, television, and Broadway musicals, with an emphasis on acting and having fun through dance!

Pointe - Originally created to allow dancers to appear more etherial on stage, Pointe work consists of Ballet technique performed on the tips of a dancer’s toes with the aid of Pointe shoes.

Tap - Rooted in percussive dance forms from Africa, Scotland, Ireland, and England, Tap utilizes the sound of shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Students will learn a mix of Broadway and Rhythmic tap dance to create various sounds and rhythms!
