Boozhoo! Greetings Teachers!
On behalf of Lac Seul and our three community schools, I warmly welcome you.
Our Ojibwe language and culture and living on the land are all central in our community life. Our community is comprised of three settlements - Kejick Bay, Whitefish Bay, and Frenchman’s Head. We identify ourselves as Lac Seul First Nation, yet our cultural history, traditional knowledge, and relationship to the land is from time immemorial. We invite you to learn on the basis of a reciprocal relationship to be open-minded and to understand the students’ way of life and how our young people learn. Our three schools actively host and organize a variety of guest speakers, cultural and social events throughout the calendar year that engage students to learn and invite parents to participate. We encourage you to initiate and organize different learning opportunities in and outside your classroom. We look forward to having you participate and integrate with community life, and share in the strategies to make Lac Seul feel like home.
