This lab involves 2 days of work. On the first day, build a roller coaster that meets the requirements. On the second day, calculate the energy and draw a graph at different points.
1 - Your roller coaster must have at least 1 vertical loop
2 - Your roller coaster must have 1 jump (where the track is disconnected)
3 - Your roller coaster is constructed with ONLY the materials provided.
Bonus - include a way to measure the maximum height at the end of the track to find energy lost to heat.
Find the kinetic and potential energy at 10 different locations along your roller coaster, assuming no energy is transformed to thermal.
Label the points on your coaster with a sticky note. Include the calculated energy and a sketch of the energy graph at that point.
Turn in a sketch of your roller coaster that includes labels for each of the ten points and the calculated kinetic, potential, and total energy at those points.
