Wingnuts
Team 5198
We are the Wingnuts, a high school robotics team competing in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)! Based at Livingstone Adventist Academy, our team is made up of passionate and dedicated high school students who design, build, and program robots to take on exciting engineering challenges. For the past 14 years, Livingstone Adventist Academy has proudly supported robotics, helping students grow as innovators, problem-solvers, and teammates. Over the years, we’ve earned several awards, including our most recent recognition: the Innovate Award. We love robotics and are committed to learning, having fun, and inspiring others through STEM!
"FIRST® Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in a dynamic and exciting challenge released every September.
Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches.
On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed."

"We are a group of Adventist students, teachers, and mentors - partnered with FIRST - who recognize the importance of STEM education in Adventist schools. We recognize that students involved in our robotics programs learn much more than engineering. They learn marketing, time-management, communication skills, and creative problem solving in a fun and engaging way."
