International Doctoral College “Statistical Physics of Complex Systems”

PhD student exchange, co-tutelle studies, and cooperation between four institutions:

Supported by Deutsch-Französisches Doktorandenkollegium (DFDK) / Collège Doctoral Franco-Allemand (CDFA) / German-French Graduate School.

The doctoral college has more than 30 years of history. It is led by internationally renowned scientists and deals with challenging scientific questions. Since 2007 it is also supported by the French-German University programme “Complex Systems in Equilibrium and Non-Equilibrium” :  a successful German-French collaboration between University of Lorraine (Nancy) and Leipzig University has been maintained, in which very good scientific results are regularly achieved. The quality of the collaboration is also evident in the fact that the doctoral programme has expanded internationally in the meantime and it also cooperates with Coventry University in Great Britain (since 2011) and Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Lviv (since 2014). This has resulted in technically useful additions that have further increased the attractiveness of the doctoral program.
