Despite being a small country, Costa Rica counts with a total of 69 public institutions. According to a report from 2016 by MEIC, ministries, public institutions, municipalities offer a total of 2044 services online.

Our translation scope has been determined based two main factors:

1. The content for localization has to be relevant for our target users.

2. The content should fall under any of the following 6 domains: tourism, education, health care, transportation, migration, and taxation.

Here are specific examples of the institutions’ sites we are pursuing to translate:

1. Tourism: Translation of the Instituto Costarricense de Turismo website.

2. Education: Translation of the main websites of our public universities: UNA (Escuela de Filosofía y Letras), UCR (Escuela de Lenguas Modernas), TEC, INA and UTN.

3. Health care: Translation of la Cruz Roja and Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS).

4. Transportation: Translation of ARESEP.

5. Taxation: Translation of the Ministerio de Hacienda.

6. Migration: Translation of Dirección General de Migración y Extranjería.
