Astronaut was developed in collaboration with Greg Fryer, the Australian luthier who restored Brian May's original Red Special and built the
"George Burns" Red Special, which has remained on stage since the late 1990s.
While preserving the spirit and unique tonal
character of the Red Special, Astronaut adopts a 25.5-inch Fender scale for a familiar and
comfortable playing experience
One of its key specifications is the use of New Guinea Rosewood, a tonewood highly regarded by Greg Fryer and also used in the
"George Burns" Red Special. The body will be available in New Guinea Rosewood or Mahogany.
Astronaut features a Red Special-style tremolo and bridge, which Greg Fryer considers one of the great inventions of Brian May and his father.
Unlike other Kz models, it employs a traditional Fender-style four-bolt neck joint, combined with a vintage Stratocaster-inspired neck profile for an immediately natural feel.
